Driving my 2000 Ranger 4.0 4W/D today on a gravel road and put it 4w/d and my wife noticed a squeal/screach coming from the L/front wheel area. Got it home and drove around in the yard in 4W/D, making circles and noticed that turning hard to the left that the squeal/screach would stop. But as soon as I turned hard right while circling it would start again. Any idea what this might be? Thought it might be a bearing but wouldn't a bearing make this noise in or out of 4W/D.

Thanks in advance!

A u-joint or cv-joint on one of the front axles?

Thanks 97RangerXLT,
I'll check those out. I tried the search feature yesterday but couldn't get it to work that's why I posted. Still not working today either!
