Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

LOL, thanks! But no, just a die maker ... so I do have some time into fabbin stuff.

You get all your stuff figured out?

I did! That MAF sensor swap fixed everything!

Next on my list is a rear sway bar.......................since my 2wd never came with one.:icon_twisted:

She's a little roll-y in the turns!

Update time

Got my cab mounted for good, ended up withjust around 1.5" body lift.....would have liked to have none, but the cab just wouldn't sit any lower with out major modifications.

Got the rest of the frame wire wheeled and primered and pained most of it

Chopped off my rear shock mounts, axle and frame, thinking of mounting them like this(ignore the tape for now)

and I will add another cross bar to support like this(ignore the X)

Ok, the X.....thinking of not boxing the back frame, but just putting the X in to support it, kind of like this

What do you think? Should that be good or F it and just box the damn thing!

Then I started chopping the front crossmember, still have some clearancing to do on it, then I plan on rebuilding it some how

track bar issues

And some more pictures of the truck and hoops

So yeah, give me input on the front crossmember and boxing the frame.....I don't kno9w what to do. I am thinking of taking the front crossmeber right out and raising it up close to the pan.....don't know

Thanks for looking!

i like the shock hoops man!

but i cant help ya in deciding to box or tube...if i was going to do it i would just box it. but im not that knowledgeable in that sort of stuff

There are two reasons I am wavering on boxing

1, I will probably do a bed cage at some point so the boxing wont be necessary
2, It's gonna suck to do and I am feeling lazy

I guess I would do it yall think I should but I ran my stock frame for a long time without any issues, but it would be nice to say I have a fully boxed frame!

remember, it is YOUR truck.....if ya gonna do a bed cage, then i too don't see a need to really box the frame...

as for the "X" i wouldn't bother...especially since ya doin the bed cage....

Good point, it is my truck....but I am unsure if it really should be done or just a nice thing to say is done, that is why I am asking for input.

As far as the bed cage, that may be this winter, or next year, I just want it to take some abuse now till I get around to it.

The X woulld be nice and I still my do it even if I do box it the rest of the way. It ties my rear tow point further into the frame and ties my shock mounts in also.

looking good man...its screaming for a flatbed/offroad bed :D

I know right??? I just wann ahve the extra short bed on it for now just because...later on I will do something else!

What do ya think about the position of the rear shocks? It will fit under the bed and should flex out good.

i like it, alot of the jeep guys run thiers that way...so it has to work. i cant see why it wont

if your putting a bed on it i would just run the second tube to support the shocks and call it a day

Alright, goal accomplished, got it to go full bump, and flexed it both ways with no interference (besides the drop pitman arm...I need a stocker, anyone have one they wanna send my way??)

Jack flexing with flat air shocks...gonna charge them soon.

Then at full droop

Next step would be weld everything up and paint, install gears, blah, blah blah, but work is sending me out of town to chase a job...I gotta go to Tennessee till Sunday, leaving at 3 in the morning tomorrow so no work is going to get done.

I just wanna wheel this pig......

I hope you are real carefull useing those stands up on blocks like that, those blocks arent made to have pressure put on them in that way.

Robert

Your suspension setup is looking nice.

looks good kyle, you'll be wheeling LONG before I will, lol

:dunno: Guess I can't do everything right....shouldn't be like that much longer anyway

looks good man, if ya swing through the area on your way back let me know

I will be close to you, Springfield is where I am going. I will let you know if I get a chance...I wanna see your rig first hand!
