Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

Whats a fair price for my kit? $250 for the plate and stub?

I'd be willing to pay that I figure.

$200-250 Sounds good to me.

As far as building the plates, I had an idea. Do you think it would be to much to ask for, that the bolt heads that interfere with the transfer case be countersunk and use flush-headed allen socket bolts?
It would make DIY assembly a lot easier.

id be down...tell me where to send the money....i need another christmas present

This is the way I did the V8 swap into the Jeep and the way I'm doing my doubler...Kyle, what kind of machinery do you have access to in order to make the intermediate shafts??

Yup, I can do that...good idea. I wanted to remake my adaptor plate out of aluminum, figure 1/2" thick, so that should work good. I will try it out first.

It is gonna be a little while, but I will let everyone know when I get something going.

I work in a die shop, so cnc mills, lathe, Bridgeport mills, drill press, surface grinders, edm wire burn machine and design software. I will be using the the wire burn mostly to do the larger spline. The smaller one I am planning on making basically a 'tap/die' to cut the spline using a press. We will see how it works. If it works good, I should be able to whip out a few pretty quick.

I will keep you all updated, I am still in the design faze....

Cool man, well looks like you got yourself a little business going here. Haha!

Sweet, I like the challenge

ALright, did a little snow wheeling today, got about 10" last night figured I would put it to use. Sorry for the crappy quality, cell is all I had

Truck did great, love the tires, they dig nicely. Now I have a new problem, with snow wheeling come tire spin, and with the tire spin comes axle wrap, and I have a lot of it in the back. Plan is when I swap my explorer axle in is to build some sort of anti wrap bar to double as a drive shaft guard.

glad im not the only one with axle wrap problems on the 63's...doesnt get too much off road but i revolution of a tire on wet or dry asphalt and my kidneys are taking a beating...

you suck im watching the snow through the window right now...if im lucky we might get 2 inches

It was never too bad off road, never on road. Now that I have the TSL's, they must dig and grab better than the old BFG MT's cus now I feel like I am gonna break something when it is doing it! And my box is a rattly POS that I need to finish so my truck doesn't sound like a heep going down the trail!

Still snowing here..maybe we will get a few more

Also I guess on a side note, swapped a 1350 case in my DD yesterday (95 explorer sport with auto 4wd) and found out that the front shaft isn't a direct swap and the axle disconnect won't work with the old case out. I had to jerry rig the solenoids to shift the front axle and I had to shorten the drive shaft 2" to make it work....but it's a tank in the snow now!! Still have to cut some holes in the floor for the shifter...anyone have pictures of where they go in relationship to the regular shifter?

snow, mmmm, i would love to get 10" of snow. 2-3" at a time is about all we get at one time before it starts to melt then freeze then snow and freeze again.

Lake effect snow here....drive 10 miles east and they have no snow. Go 20 miles south and they have 10 more inches than us...crazy!

last week we were wheelin in about 2 inche's of snow now were punchin thru drift's that are over the hood on the brother lin law's B2, ide say we have a minimum of 24'' and drifting up to 5'. im 6'3'' and it's up to my crotch in most places. then again i am 800 mile's north on the big lake.

as far as the doubler i still need to drop about another 4-500 dollar's on the front axle alone so it may be a while till i can afford the doubler. with 5.13's i may not need the doubler not that i dont want one!
