Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

i ran 2 inch adapters all the way around my 98 cherokee, beat on it pretty hard on 33's and never had a problem and they were cheepy's

I ran 2" spacers from ebay on the front of my prerunner for 2 years with no problems, I kept an eye on them and never used a impact gun on them

My buddy is running spacers on the front and rear of his 4-linked bogger on 44's... hasn't broke 'em yet and he does some unnecessary baggin'. :headbang:

Well, from what I found so far, 4.5X5 to 5.5X6 is an expensive, 2 piece spacer, and it is 2" thick. I will keep looking. Dutchman axles are only about $230 a set if I am reading it right. I have to call them on Monday and see what they can do.

if $230 is the correct price for the axles I would definatly get them, less parts to break, spacers are just one more thing that probably wont but could go wrong.

Yeah, here is the price list, not sure if is a custom bolt pattern axle, but it says 225 a pair. If I want them to change the pattern and plug the old holes, $110, if the flang isn't big enough, $195.

On another note, made some progress, pulled my X cab, but just rolled it back on the frame and sat it back down since I want to put the motor in the other frame before I put the body on it. Might just leave it like this, looks kinda bad ass IMO:icon_twisted:

I can clear it for that....

Mud raaaaaaiiiilllllllllllllll!

Hell yeah!!

Alright, on a serious note(more for me to help me remember), did some measuring for body mounts, if I go no body lift, my rear mount will be located about 1" to 2" from the bottom of the frame rail, using stock bushings. The rear stock bushing is 2" tall, so I can cut that down to 1" to raise it up a bit. I ended up figuring it all out using a 1" body lift, with the rear mount raised up to use only a 1" bushing, I can raise up the mount 2" to get some more frame the attatch the mount. with the 1" spacer it puts me about 2.5" from the top of the frame. Basically this is telling me I have to channel my floor 3.5 " with a 1" bodylift. I wanna run no body lift, but 1" isn't too bad.

Another thing, I have to move my gas tank into my bed, other wise the fill would be under the cab...gives me less to worry about anyway, no tank to smash on the ground.

New parts showed up today, got engine ready to come out and go in the other frame....on with pictures

Fawk yeah Kyle. The build has been coming along nicely. Good progress, you'll have it up and running in no time.

Hell yeah, Kyle looks like your trucks rebirth is just moving right along. I'm already subscribed.:icon_thumby::icon_welder::icon_cheers:

Thanks guys, hoping to swap the motor this weekend

EDIT: change of plans, going away, not going to get anything done!
