Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

I read that they run at a max weight capacity of just about 1000 lbs each, so it will be close, but I think it will get the job done....might have to shave some weight. I got the pair for just over 430 shipped, figured it worth a try after doing the math on what coils, good shocks, buckets and towers cost, not a whole lot more $$ in the long run to go with the air shoxs. Plus they have a way more cool factor than coils!

And I am keeping the leafs in back to help keep it more stable. I have discos for my swaybar, if I have to, I will run it.

Isn't suspension fun?? Now I know why you were asking about my suspension. This is kinda what I want on my truck.

But he is using the half leaf as a spring. That is why I was asking, because the way you were going to do it, you wouldn't have a spring. There is a guy in the metamorphosis section with a Zuk who did the same thing, flexed like MAD!

Have fun with it, I will be watching!

Oh this is what I do for fun. I'll have to dig out some pics from my other builds. This one is the first one my kids are helping with. BTW, those 16 should really give some serious articulation. :shok:

yea so i dont see why they wont work, for the price you cant beat them, time to prove the nay sayers wrong

Just ordered my Chromo shafts and my six lug rims (x4). I got 8" wide rims this time so when the time is right I can put some bead locks on em....I alsp picked up a 25' roll of brake line, new power steering pump pulley and a new belt for the 4.0. I also got a new core support.

Now all I have left to buy-
Locker (gonna be the last thing to buy)
Drive shafts(shorten, lenghten)
Misc brake parts
wheel bearings
D44 gear install kit
and figure out how to get 6 lug 8.8 shafts, maybe adaptors or redrill??
Radiator
elecric fan

Decided to keep my 6 lug rotors since they are in good shape, and save me 170 bucks for new hubs and rotors.

And did I ever say it really sucks to F up all you own shit you already bought once and have to do it all over again.....

The Green truck is going in the shop tomorrow to start pulling the cab, we will see how far I get.

id say go adapters for the 8.8, doubt there is enough meat in the flange to redrill

Talk to BrayD. I think he got a set of custom 31 spline shafts made for his explorer rear end that had a larger lug pattern. But that's money, and adapters would be much cheaper.

I think I would rather buy the shafts, I think Bray went thru Dutchman, gotta hit him up on cost. I think I would rather spend the extra on new shafts now then get adapters now then shaft later.

I will have to look at how much flange is there to re drill once I get my new rims.

Would a chevy 14 bolt axle out of a late 80's - early 90's 3/4 ton be a possibility? It would have a 6 bolt lug pattern, but the width might be an issue since you already have the eb front...

I was thinking that, maybe one out of a blazer maybe? I don't know, then I would still have issues with drive line hook up. I really don't want custom parts, and adaptors sound nice for that reason, but they just don't seem like they are all that tough.
