Not sure the appropriate section for this so I'll put it in the general discussion. Mods feel free to move. I recently purchased a 2001 Ranger from Washington Ford in PA. I noticed some things wrong with the vehicle after I had taken delivery. Namely, driver's side window and door lock not working, A/C didn't seem to be working efficiently (short cycling), and the 4x4 was not working Ah! I called and told my dealer and he said to bring it in when I can.

Took the vehicle back on my next day off and all issues were resolved and at no cost to me; as it should have been. Door lock was the actuator, power window motor was out, A/C was low on freon and the 4x4 control module was out and had a dirty connection.

Just wanted to give the boys in the service dept props for a job well done and maybe send some business to Brian Bojarski, my salesman.

Good to know hoohah cept change the spelling the Steelership. Stealership made me think they ripped you off and I'm sure some Pittsburgh fans may take offense. LOL

I know there are a few bad guys out there that will say "Your problem now bud", but honestly, a lot of the used car managers out there are more than willing to make it right when stuff like that happens.

My mom bought an 06 Escape a while back, got her a 2 month/2K mile warranty on it, the A/C compressor grenaded 200 miles over the warranty end. They fixed it for her for $200. I priced out the same repair at my shop the week before, it was $1200 just in parts, on top of 10 hours labor (roughly another $750 + tax).

We have never had a problem with any of our dealers (new) here in the Tampa area. Now used....hahhhhh. I had a dealer salesman rip me off once. Back in '90 I bought a really nice used 85 Jeep Cherokee 4 door with a really sweet lift and running 35's. Solid front axles and roof rack and rear spare tire carrier with a spare 35. Almost brand new A/T tires and wheels. It only had (with proof) 27,000 miles. It had the big six cylinder and it had the beefy auto trans I wanted for wheeling up in the Ocala National Forrest area. Man!! I loved that Jeep. I got it for $2900.00 and they told me they had just tinted the windows the day before.
I told the salesman I had just opened my bank account and was changing from Macdill AFB credit union to my wife's credit union (she is a school teacher). I told him I am transferring all my savings over in a couple of days and I only had $600.00 in cash for a down payment. The salesman went in to talk to the boss and they said ok. I got instant financing and I was out the door in 20 min.
They called me the next morning about 9:30 and said there is a problem with the loaner and to come in ASAP. I got there and the 'boss' said that they wanted $500 more from me. I told him I have not transferred my funds over. They said it was ok to post date the check until next Wednesday. I wrote the check and they called the loaner and the loaner said everything is alright now. The next Monday afternoon I get a note from the credit union that the check has bounced!! WTF!!!! It was dated for that Wednesday, two day away!!! I called the dealer and they said to come in and make it good!!! I said I dated the check as they requested for Wednesday which is two days away. I was pissed off.
I went over there and gave them $500 cash and demanded a receipt and my check back. They said the check got torn up somehow!! It was in an envelope sealed really good It was in about 8 pieces. I did not really look at it until I got home. I was so pissed. I saw that the date had been changed (whitewashed) as it was not my handwriting. I called the cops on them. The cops said too bad. It would be too hard to prove. Ruined my credit for awhile. This crap head salesman got his butt kicked two weeks later when I saw him. He gave me some lip about doing what he wanted to do and too bad and pushed me out of the way while 3 people were waiting to buy a car. I lost my temper and I punched him in the side of the head. It was closing time. He never knew saw that coming. I never got in trouble for that since he pushed me first.

I will always remember this. It has left a bad taste in my mouth to this day. I never really enjoyed that Jeep much after that. I kept it about 11 months and sold it for a small profit to a buddy of mine who was in the Navy with me. His wife wanted thet Jeep real bad!!!
