Kroussin 93 Explorer build

well the aussie is in the mail on the way back to new york! as soon as they have it in hand they are going to give me a full refund (which better include shipping). after alot of reading on the lunchbox locker's and what not I think I am going to be alot happier with the grizz locker. will go thru Randy's even tho they are a lil more expensive then everywhere else. that way all my crap will be thru them i've also been dealing with the same guy thru the whole process and he has been awsome. Talked with him on the price of the yukon and it sounds like he is going to try and match the lowest price i can find which is complete off road as of now.

oh yeah and it turns out the aussie WAS machined wrong. the cam gears were machined too thin. overall ive been very happy with their customer service. only thing i didnt like was the fact that when i would call back to give them the measurements they asked for they would take a message and then ide have to wait for a response from "bill" there tech guy.

For anyone who has or know's somone who may have ordered an aussie around the same time as me there have been 40 sold out of this same "lot" not sure if they are all improperly machined or I was just the lucky one.

Makes me want to avoid them when I order mine. But their site said they were sold out.

i still might go that route for the front once i get better shafts. mistakes happen and they were VERY good to correct them.

Keep forgetting its for your rear.

I'm a little nervous to lock the front with 38.5's and stock shaft's

For anyone that hasnt noticed i've been doing a BUNCH of piddly crap while ive been patiently waiting for the axle's to be done. I'm still waiting for word on the the refund from aussie but i will get a notification from USPS as soon as it's delivered.

so for the last batch of work

I removed the headlights and fenders AGAIN. figured while it's in here I might as well get the inner fenders cut in preperation for cutting the fenders to clear the meats. used about 15 1/8" rivets W/backers per side

Also wired in some tweeters to my C.B. to help me hear. i have no hearing on my right side due to a SEVERE ear infection when i was 17. there are no bones left on my inner ear as they removed my ear and took them all out (no joke) still have 100% hearing from my left side. can still hear thru vibrations on my right side tho.

and I also had a tendencie to just toss my mic into my cup holder and then let it bounce out and around which was fine until i needed it again. so I cam up with this for my lazy arse

and ass you can see in the last picture i still need to throw in the tumbler out of the explorer column so I can retain the same key for the doors and ignition.

and mounted both Mag lights

and if you can remember from the VERY begining it had the typical B.S. battery terminals on it. decided to go this route. should make it nice if i ever need to add anything to the electrical system

made this for my brethers since i really had nothing else better to do at that time. all breters are routed into here. the filter was a random filter i had laying around with the dirt bike stuff and is 100% for show as it only has a 3/16" hole drilled in the end under the cover. this was the magic size to maintain a positive pressure of 3" W.C. for me. it will never build p.s.i. and shouldnt cause it to push gearoil out of a good seal. the 3/4" barb has the pcv routed into it. and since it has a small amount of blow by this is what is "pressurizing" it. i'm going to keep a close eye on everything as I am kinda uncertain of this setup but if it doesnt work out i'll return the pcv to its previous location and plug the 3/4 port.

everything but the pcv hooked up

also added this to the driverside kick panel up near the dash.
red jumpers are for battery power. side of everyting
green jumpers are for the key on side of everything.
ran out of mastic heat shrink for this project but since it's not going to be near any weather i think it will be fine.

got a new box for the back of the truck that holds everyting and takes a matter of minuits to remove for camping. it's held in by two cables and two trunbuckles. stuff that i will be getting into on a regular basis will be stowed or mounted elsewhere.

and I finally mounted the reverse lights that were on the mazda. not sure how long they are going to last up here. the brackets were pretty twisted up from being on the mazda. all the wiring is ran inside the hatch. was a major P.I.T.A. pulling them thru and then thru the gromet with the factory wiring.

and YES the mic holder is a slightly modified 2.99$ retractable key chain.

I need reverse lights. Think I am going to mount them in my bumper since I can't fit my 3k winch there.

Where did you get those battery terminals? I need some but can't find any that I like that are in my price range.

carquest they were like 5$ a pop. as for the reverse lights they may end up getting moved to the bumper/tire carrier (once its finished) and if these get broken.

recieved confirmation that aussie recieved my locker at 10 a.m. yesterday. (checked after my previous post) still no mulah in my account tho. suppose it take's em a bit to get everything in order. however i'll give them a friendly phone call to see if I can speed them up a little bit so i can get the other one here sooner!

Carquest? Don't have that here, heck we don't even have pepboys anymore. Fort Wayne sucks for parts stores.

We have carquest, pepboys, autozone advance auto and napa here in Lafayette and two or three of each just in town too.

Thats one thing on my todo list is better backup lights, factory ones arent that bright for me.

hey kroussin, got a question for ya. i keep my mag lite in the same spot as you in my truck, but every once in a while it slides forward and i kick it out of the truck. did you build those brackets to hold them in place? or did you buy and or modify something else?
