i say we all over north american drive our RBVs drive on fords head corner's door. and at the old twine cities plant...and say "hey! our self's in the RBV community area asking. please bring back a ranger to north america. pretty please with a cherry on top! :)"

just an idea

Sounds good, but you'll have to wait for me as I don't currently have an RBV in running condition. The BII I barely trust to drive around the block until I get the carb sorted out and the Ranger doesn't move under its own power due to a tcase/tranny issue I haven't had time to look into yet but I suspect it will involve a broken shift fork or shattered gear of some sort. And fixing either doesn't look like it's going to happen for me until May sometime with how busy I am with everything else going on.

I wouldn't waste my time UNLESS they brought back the Ranger with a turbo charged diesel!

I will buy one brand new today if they did.

The market screams for small diesel trucks...

yeah, as much as i love my ranger i wouldnt trust it to drive that distance haha. im not in the market for anything new anyways, i like my old junk.

Distance...um ya I guess I am out....haha. ggood dream I guess....or unless we can find a really big trailer.

I saw a brand new Ranger driving down the freeway the other day. They come up from Mexico around here. As a matter of fact I see all kinds of strange vehicles on our roads up from Mexico.

I somewhat doubt that me rolling up in my rusty, heavily modified, 25 year old truck that has the steering wheel and my copy of the keys as the only original parts left will help make your point.

Well until 2015 you can import a Ranger T6 from the South Africa Ford plant, other country's truck imports have a 25% US duty tax, South Africa falls under an Africa trade agreement that expires in 2015.
And you would probably have to spend a little dough on safety and emissions changes.

The T6 is almost the same size as an F-150, which is why Ford doesn't sell them here.
But it can be had with a 3.2l turbo diesel and a 6-speed manual, 4x2 or 4x4

I thought California was a part of Mexico? Damn, learn something new every day.

I thought California was part of Russia.

I don't see Ford listening to customers to bring back vehicles they quit making here in the US. They only like to stop production on good selling vehicles or change them to look so ugly (I.E. New Explorer) that nobody wants them. Gone are the Bronco, Bronco II, Ranger, Crown Victoria, Tempo, and many others Ford don't care they have a small number of people they ask opinions of and none of them are people who actually drive these vehicles.

Ford just keeps losing more and more footing in the market, as well as GM, and Fiat. They have turned their focus to building grocery getter mobiles rather than anything of use to anyone who works for a living. Some people don't need a full size truck very often if at all, but yet end up having to buy a full size truck because that's all that's available. The Toyota Tacoma gets the same fuel economy in a 4WD/V6 configuration as the Tundra so may as well buy the larger truck. Same goes for the Frontier same fuel economy, may as well buy the larger truck with a V8. The Ranger was a great selling truck, not just private buyers but huge numbers sold in fleets for many different companies. Couriers, parts warehouses used them for delivering parts etc, work trucks, and all sorts of different uses. Now these companies that were buying fleets of Rangers are now buying Toyota Tacomas or Nissan Frontiers. Talk about selling out to the Competition ford has been great about doing that. My local Les Schwab Tire shop had ford rangers for many years, now they have a new 4WD Tacoma.

Ford will only sell what sells here and Ford knows what sells overseas. The Sprot Trac was the start of the death for the Ranger here in America. The Ranger sells were in a real bad decline for sometime with the F series trucks starting to take over from the small truck class. So I might be buying a 2-3 year old low milage Sport Trac this summer. A few of my friends have them and after driving a few of them I really liked driving one. They have not had any issues with their Spot Trac's and I like hearing that.
