Im ordering parts online for the first time, i need a radius arm bracket for Rusty 2.0, drivers side.

This would be the right side right?

I know my left from right, so dont be a smart aleck, but is it decided looking at the front from the outside of the truck, or from the drivers seat?

Hey, rusty!

That should be the left one. I believe that whenever you order parts, you need to judge right from left based on the viewpoint of someone sitting inside the cab, not someone looking under the hood from the front. It’s what a lot of different parts store guys have advised me and I’ve always gotten the correct ones using that method.

Hope it helps!

Best,

RE

Correct, as you sit in the drivers seat.

Thanks yall!

left side part is always driver side, right side part is always passenger side. i've been in the car parts business for a long time.

This is so in North America, and has always been a helpful guide for me.

But things go south when I'm working on a vehicle with my South African-born friend! We've learned to refer to vehicle things between ourselves strictly as 'right' or 'left' side!

If im working with one of my certain buddies its point at said part and refer to it as "that piece of (insert animal here) $#!+.

Just makes it easy from the driver's seat... Saying "driver/passenger side" makes the same part 2 different beings all together... "I ordered the driver side X and it's too short or too long"

I think you missed the point. there are places that have right side drivers.

Maybe you didn't understand the logic... From either seat the driver is in you have a left and right side. Unless you drive facing backwards the information stays the same

It's pretty simple really. It goes by which side of the vehicle is based off the driver seat. So a US spec vehicle and a Euro spec vehicle use the same part and # even though one is a driver side vs passenger side

If you’re sitting in the cab, the right side of the vehicle is the right side of the vehicle and the left is the left, regardless of where the seats are located. This issue may well be why people started referring to things as “right” and “left,” as opposed to “driver’s side” and “passenger’s side."
