ok does anyone elses truck do this? when i am driving and and the backof my truck goes over a ruff spot are were the bridge contects to the ground. the back of my truck kicks out? why is it doing this??? and can i fix it?

Sometimes when I'm cornering and I hit a bump going a little too fast my rear tires will hop a little bit and chirp when they land. Is that what you are talking about?

I think he means it fish tails a little. thats normal for a light rear end pick up, it can be corrected with better riding shocks or good off road shock or welding on some trac bars.

Yeah I have no trouble with it really just keeps you alert. I think if you add some weight to the rear it will help. My solution would be to add a Class III rear hitch; I plan on doing that to mine soon.

no it dont fish tail it just jumps. i was just wounding if i was the only one with this issue. yea ill put my tool box back in and it should stop it ways about 150 to 200 pounds later guy thanks

mine bounces to it will throw the rear end in either direction

Your best bet is to climb underneath the truck and check the shocks and leaf springs. It shouldn't take to long.

i had new shocks installed when i had my lift put on a month ago. i think its what they previously said about not enough weight but i dont know.

What you are asking about is called wheel hop. Bad springs, high energy return shocks, bad shocks, loose rear springs or worn spring bushings can cause wheel hop. If it bounces to the side especially check the rear spring bushings on both sides.

Mine will do it as well and I have an axle flip. Primary reason is the lightness of the rear. Secondary is the shock/spring combination - I plan on getting load leveling coils or air shocks and hope it will help in this area also.

I was driving my Ranger up the 400 Hwy one day and hit a piece of steel that was lying across the road...the truck jumped halfway into the fast lane and scared the crap out of me...my shocks were really bad...after I replaced them...no more hopping around...

I'd say definitely suspension related...even with no weight in my truck the only time it goes out on me is on a washboard road when I go too fast...but that's normal because I've had it happen on a few vehicles...

Ditto. There is a storm water grate in the road down the street from my house and my truck used to do it. Now after installing new shackle brackets and rear shocks, it doesn't do it anymore. I think for me it was more rear shocks because they were original with 176k on them and were worn out for sure.

when i whip the wheel in the snow my truck kicks out.....alot. but yea, it happened when i had my old tires on my chebby
