2001 Ranger XLT that I call Kermit. It's a decently mild street truck that I commute with every day so until I get another DD, extreme won't exactly be part of this truck. Still mulling around big block swap or forced induction, but that won't be until I'm out of the college life.
Where I'm at now:

What I started with:

Let the Modding begin!

MBRP Catback exhaust, loving the sound

Threw a L/S in the 8.8 from a Mustang (sorry for the mismatched picture size)

Darkened the tail lights and added a cover

Modded the "back seats" to accept some 6" speakers. Not much but they sound pretty good

Shined up the 4.0, planning on painting trim pieces red under the hood. Haven't really decided what though. The 4.0 is out of a wrecked 2003 ranger that my uncle dropped in before I got it. I'd really like to get the 4.0 cover for the TB since I don't seem to have one. But for a motor with less than half the miles of the truck itself, I can make the sacrifice

And currently my biggest fail of a mod so far, the "CAI." I'm leaving it like this for now incase I decide to go FI
IMG_0732.jpg

To Do List:
Finish my air intake
Break Into the 14's
Slotted and Dotted rotors
Some prettying up
Lower about an inch or two all around

To Done List:
Performance intake filter
Performance tuner from Sniper
MBRP Exhaust
Apparently some add-a-leafs
Limited Slip Differential
New Radio from Panasonic
Remote Start
Wideband O2
Red LED gauge cluster
Halo Projector headlights

Lose the CAI....doesnt do any good, actually bad. But other than that it's a slick truck

Thanks guys. Actually that CAI lowered my 1/4 mile times by a couple tenths, even though its that rigged up. I added a tuner and now this truck that used to be running 16's flat is running 15.5's in the summer. I can't wait for it to cool off and make a few passes

15.5?!?!?! holy shit thats fast. i ran a 16.4 at 83 and i thought that was quick

haha, yeah i was surprised myself when i got the slip. I was thinking it was a fluke, but i kept dialing 15.5's and i ended up winning that day in street class. Too bad it was only a trophy night

The hood scoops add what another 5 hp a piece? To each their own I guess.

I'd take the scoops off, people are most definitely laughing behind your back since all they are is a 3d sticker. Nice truck otherwise, good times, too!

Haha, there actually was a reason to those scoops. i had ordered the big one piece scoop that looks sexy on these rangers and was gonna make it functional. well the big two piece set came in instead so i thought to myself, why the hell not? One day they may become functional, but right now im just happy with the way they look.

Dude it looks like offset nostrils. I am not laugh behind your back at all, I am laughing straight at you. 1 big one, maybe, 2 offset medium ones make you look like you went to AutoZone and well I am not going to finish the rest bc you probably know where I was going with this.

To each their own I guess.

aaaaand finally the new exhaust

I'm really liking the sound of the new exhaust. its throaty, but not obnoxious. Doesn't drone, not too loud, but the power gains are noticeable. Nothing that makes me say that i can outrun everything on the road, but it makes driving a little bit more fun :headbang:

Nice, did those add a leafs do any good? I have a set and I might put them on my truck if they work.

To be honest, I didn't even notice that I had them until you pointed it out. I bought the truck like that, so I couldn't really tell you the difference. It rides like a dream while I'm towing boats/trailers/arse and that's about all I could say.

Well I just ran the truck at the local track to find out how my latest mods are doing. My first run wasn't stalled high enough, but was still disappointing, and I'm still trying to find out what happened on the second run. They had decided to start running early so I only got 2 runs in before I lost.

1st run:
Reaction: .2508
60ft: 2.3239
330 ft: 6.6543
1/8 ET: 10.1382
1/8 MPH: 71.18
1/4 ET: 15.6573
1/4 MPH: 89.09

2nd run:
Reaction: -.1423
60 ft: 2.3750
330 ft: 6.6432
1/8 ET: 10.0851
1/8 MPH: 71.89
1/4 ET: 16.1010
1/4 MPH: 68.08

I'm 90% sure I dumped it too early on the second run considering my 1/4 MPH was slower than my 1/8, but nonetheless I'm pretty disappointed with my times. You'd think an exhaust and a custom tune would speed things up a bit...
