If you get a repop hood, are they also aluminum?

Id lose the scoops too. I remember when everyone had them, now that everyone realizes they look tacky ypu barely ever see them on any trucks anymore thank god.

I've yet to see anything other than aluminum for 2001+, but then again i was never looking too hard

Edit: and I agree, everytime I look at my scoops I start disliking them more and more

just thought it was worth noting, i took the scoops off and im building a new tune edging towards more performance. gonna bump timing adavance up to 2 degrees global and 1.5 degrees in low through high rmp. hoping to get a few more ponies withing them pingin

Bad news fellas

Kermit was rear ended today... again :bawling:

they managed to only hit the bumper to my surprise (my hitch sticks about a foot and a half out the back) and tore it all up. We decided to settle without the insurance company since my premium is already inflated from the last wreck.

I'm looking to get another bumper, but I'm thinking about going aftermarket since it's much cheapr using lmc as the base price for a replacement. does anyone have any good suggestions on a GOOD looking bumper? I've seen some pretty ugly roll pans in my day and I'm wanting to keep the look of it being a truck, not a car. Anyone have good feedback on bumpers?

I'll post pictures of the damage later

really??? i thought this was going to be a good thread to read. v6 strip/street and what a waist of my time. when you get a v8 in it then post something:thefinger:

says the guy with a 2.9 :thefinger:
still has the power of a 302 (maybe not the torque) but its a hella lot lighter!

a v8 swap was being mulled around, but i think a 460 would make the tires squat a bit :3gears:

Alright guys and gal, I have a couple updates on the truck. I ended up getting about a 10 minute window on a frame bender at the local shop and they just bent the busted up bumper back to brand spanking new condition for about $50. This is after we order the $300 chrome bumper that we had *thought* was the right one. Turns out you can't buy a complete bumper assembly from ford. they actually sell every single part separately. I'm not talking the plastic cover and little things like that, I'm talking things that come from the factory WELDED together are sold separately. The total cost (before paying someone to weld it together if you don't own a weldng machine) is about $600. Thats a little rediculous for just a bumper. But that explains why I've been seeing so many trucks with bent up rear bumpers.

Now that my raging is over with, on to the modifications! I just installed a set of black projector headlights (no HIDS, these suckers are bright enough already) and they came out beautifully. It was a bit of a pain installing them though. I also got around to ordering that wideband I've been saying I was going to buy. I have the gauge in place and the wires ran, I just need to install the actual O2 sensor now. That old one is in there nice and tight thanks to years of heating and cooling plus rust.

I updated the main posting so it's less of a pain to read. But yes, on to what has recently been done to good ole kermit

I installed the O2 a while back and have been data logging for about a month now. cruising is perfect ratio, wot is a little lean for my liking, but part throttle (about where you drop a gear) is pig rich at 10.5-11.8. I'm still trying to figure out where I need to pull the fuel since I'm too ADD to actually look at RPM when it drops like that. The gauge looks fantastic on the steering column since it is a red read out and my cluster has red LEDs in it.

I've been putting more money in my RC lately than my truck, but thats because I break something on it every time I crank it up almost.

So it's been forever since I've updated this page, so I guess I'll fill in what's been up these past few years.

My dad had a heart attack on my parent's anniversary cruise so I've been pretty preoccupied since. He's fine now, amazing what dying and coming back to life will do to a man haha. At twice my age he can run circles around me now :icon_rofl:

On to the truck: I've ditched the dual stripes and I'm thinking about putting some matte black ghost stripes in their place (the paint is destroyed where they were at on the hood). Still toying around different designs on that. I've dropped the truck 3/4 with DJM components and pancake front bumpstops. I've put in a 200w speaker amp and a 250w self powered bazooka tube, about the finalize the speaker box design one of these weekends coming up. I literally just got done installing a BII rear swaybar. I had the exhaust rerouted "Lightning style" in front of the pass rear tire, and I love it. I'm pretty sure that's about it, I haven't had a lot of money to throw around thanks to the aforementioned heart attack. I have run it at the track with a best time of a high 15.1 1/4 mile (lost the slip so you're just gonna have to trust me :derisive:) I'll be posting pics one of these months

Dirmaid is back in the game :icon_hornsup: :icon_hornsup:

Also, I think threads got moved around since the last time I was here, this was definitely not under offroad???

And how in the world do I get rid of that poll? I've looked everywhere...
