Is the k and n plastic intake worth the money? They claim 10hp for the 3.0L, i got a hard time beleaving that.....

nope, unless you think the brand gives you power, the K&N Sticker probally gives you more power than the intake!!!!:D

Agreed. Dont waste your money on the gimmic of a "cold air intake" just throw in a drop in k&n and rip out the silencer, you will get the same amount of noise...it adds 10 hp!!!! jk.

Thats what i was thinkin lol, just put a sticker on the lid i have.

Or, you can send me the money you would pay for the K&N intake, and you will get the same performance increase from WWR (Wallet Weight Reduction)! :D:D

Ha Ha, LMAO! :icon_rofl: But yea, my buddy got a K&N FIPK 57 series "Cold Air Intake" kit for his 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer, and it has done absolutely nothing except make a cool whistling sound. For performance, it hasn't done shit, so take it from me and the rest of the guys, don't buy it.

So i could buy a 250 dollar whisling sound? :yahoo:

k&n and rip out the silencer

RangerRocker, what do you mean by this? I have a K&N filter- now I want the noise at least. Or is the jk. about the whole sentence.............

He means to use a K&N drop in filter in your stock airbox and there's also a piece under the airbox called a silencer that you can remove for a throatier sound...

I got a good boost with mine combined with the dynomax catback. You can clamp the K&N filters right onto the MAF units as well. You will pull in warmer air when the engine heats up, though.

I will be heading out to the garage right now to initiate this mod- thanks!
