Just sucked in SEAFOAM, now waiting for about 10 minutes before firing it up!

have you ever pulled an oilpan off to see whats in there after doing somthing like that? Stuff in the lifter vally doesnt just melt away totaly. As far as the combustion chamber, sure, it does, unless its heavly carboned, and some shit will flake off. to think otherwise is foolish

I can't believe the attitude of some of you around here. I don't think the supporting people are billing it as fix-it in a can. Its just another tool for the old toolbox. Lighten up.

it will only remove what it can thin out, if it's not thin enough to drain out of the oil it's not going to be thin enough to clean it off of the lifter valley. Like I said before, it is a solevant, it's not going to move the sludge a cup at a time.

If it's caked that bad you will need several treatments to get is clean.

Have I removed oil pans after sea foaming...Yes

an unknown mileage JDM B16, her pan was sludge free
countless small engines
my 50,000 mile b18b

and all were sludge free

Well...if it ain't broke...leave it alone. That's the only reason I won't touch the stuff for now. Sounds like Allen had pretty good luck with it though.

...
The only negatives i have heard from about seafoam is it occasionally eating up an oxygen sensor but in most cases they are either old or cheap autozone replacements.
....

In case anyone cares (as this is a tad off-topic) Autozone carries Bosch oxygen sensors, the same ones many of the worlds car's came with from the factory. The auto parts opinions kill me as I have been in that field for 12 years and always hear the same things about EVERY parts place there is. It just depends where you are standing as to who you hear getting bashed.

I've never used any autozone replacement O2 sensors other than on Hondas and they were never on my personal vehicles, only cars I was working on. When it comes to electronics I use only OEM whether it be plug wires, coils or sensors.

Most hondas also use Bosch, some Denso, just depends on the year OBDI, OBDII and pre OBD are all different and also primary and secondarys.

If autozone/advanced has switched from that chineese crap then more power to them. It's been about 4 years since i've purchased one but I will definatly take note of it and check with them before I buy another 175 buck O2 sensor from Honda.

Yeah, it DID work for me. Sorry everyone's arguing about it now.

The ticking went away and it just feels smoother. Like I said though, "it's not night and day" in the performance department but it IS night and day as far as how the motor sounds now. The motor does'nt sound like a tapping machine anymore. I've even had my x-brother in law tell me I needed to fix my motor because of the tap sound it had before the "SEAFOAM".

I just want you guys to stop fighting/arguing about this. All I know is this is definitely a better cleaner then water because it's a chemical and it helped me. Maybe because my Ranger had a lot of miles on it is why it worked so well?

I really don't know why it worked for me the way it did if it's snake oil, but let's all get along and just share our experiences. Thanks.

Well I just tried the ol' seafoam myself, just as described through the vac line off the booster. Took a bit of fenaggling. (no prob if I had three hands)and let me tell you, I did see some noticable differences. OMG the smoke that this stuff bellows out is crazy. I found out that I have a cracked exhaust manifold. Guess its time for that header I've been thinking about. I did notice a little more responsiveness. Also the typical pinging did seem to go away, for now. Or at least I cant hear it. And the hard starting has gone away. By coincidence maybe but I hope not. I checked the oil. I didnt see anything wrong it was just changed and there wasnt any odd color or was it blacked or milky. For $6 at autozone I think it did work as advertized. No complaint here. I think I may do it again on the next oil change and so on just to see if the effects continue. I will let you guys know. And as for Allen thanks for the thread. I never knew this stuff existed. And I wouldnt have if it werent for this great site.

I'm not arguing, just stating what I've seen while i've been selling/using the stuff.

I don't like people bashing a product that they have not tested. Alot of times these are the same people that say crap like synthetic motor oil is no better than conventional motor oil.

winning an argument on an internet forum is alot like winning an event in the special olympics. Even if you win your still a tard.

no offense to the special olympics

not arguing, juss giving my two cents. and i imagin there is a lotta smoke, but how much of it is carbon, and how much of it is just from the seafoam its self.

there is whole lot of smoke if you use it as directed, she will smoke for a good 10-15 min. It's the seafoam smoking. The carbon it's removing is dissolved so it's not going to be an issue when exiting the engine. The main thing to keep in mind is do not overfill your crankcase when adding it to your oil. If i add it to the oil I'll do it the evening before the oil change and drive it to and from work.

:icon_rofl:Now thats pretty funny Haha!:icon_rofl:

I used the seafoam through the brake booster about 3 weeks. I used to have a very noticable low pinging noise at all times and when i went uphills that pinging got louder and the engine actually bog down pretty bad. but since i used the seafoam no more pinging at all, no more bogging down and pinging on the hills either. i would have to say it does a good job. i will continue to use it. can beat it for 5 bucks from wal-mart.

That's where I bought mine.....lol
