hey im just curious, cuz i for some reason like ford rangers, how hard is it to put a 5 litre mustang engine in say, a 1990 ford ranger 4x4? i want a cool, unique truck to drive and i have some time to kill til i get my license (yeah im 16, you got a problem?). in short, can someone give me a clue of what i'd be getting myself into physically and financially? sorry if im too needy

Well you could spend anywhere from free to 10k doing the swap. It's all in what you want.
If you want a "unique" truck you should check into a 4.6l swap. Alot less of them around.

If you do the swap you should get your wiring harness along with the engine out of the doner car, if your going EFI.
The physical part is not that bad, it helps to have a friend or two, but not really needed.

that would be cool, but a 5.0 would be better cuz i wouldnt have to adapt the five speed to the 4.6. but a cop car engine would be cool... so swap out the ecu and wiring harness pretty much? its not one of th

yeah just get the whole wiring harness and ECU, dont go cutting it all up and tryin to splice it back together. The more time you take keeping the harness nice the easier the swap is, just plug everything in and go..
