Just Plain Stupied

Is that guy across the street with the Jet-Ski parked on his lawn? Why does no one Jet-Ski when it's raining, I mean who cares if you get wet?Are your wipers on the top of the windshield? Where is your grille? Am I asking to many dumb questions?

:D

Glad the AC install is going smooth for you DG.

You don't want the condenser getting wet, but moisture in the lines will evaporate when it gets evaced before charging.

It will be fine.

Hi, I started working on my 36 project again and had a couple of questions for you about yours. Did you change the way the radiator support hoop is mounted and where its mounted? It looks a little different than mine but it might just be the pictures. And is the radiator you used the one from Gil? I havent got one yet and have been looking at different options. If you have any more close up pictures of the way its mounted in there I would appreciate it. Keep up the great work.

gregs....I just got up the nerve to go outside & finish connecting the A/C...going outside now...refesh my memory....did you buy the '36 pickup kit from Mr. Gill...the radiator support takes some adjusting for the grill & hood pieces to line up properly....I bought the radiator from him, but have had a couple pinhole leaks because of thin spots on the upper & lower tanks...will get a few pics posted in next 30 minutes...

her's some pics...notice how I modified the length of each radiator bracket to get the radiator the right distance from the fan/drilled new holes in the radiator side-braces for up&down adjustment...

the other 2 brackets were also modified as necessary to get the radiator square & spaced correctly......

pic of the fan with 3/4" clearance from radiator....I also shortened the fan blade to clear the main radiator support....

STREETROD (80).JPG

Note: I also had to do away with the fan clutch & use a direct drive adapter to connect fan to water pump to help with clearance problems (one day I may install hi-flow electric fan aquired from bone-yard)

Wrong pic/engine...right fan modification.....................

Let me know what you've done so far...maybe I can save you some major headaches....will be back in an hour or 2....

I would do the electric fans, takes the load off the engine and may help with clearances plus may also be able to keep the rad, tranny cooler and a/c condensoer cooler then the mechanical one. Plus it might be safer too.

Keep up the good work.
