UPDATE: this.............

Now looks like this (laying on my back taking a sideways pic of the inside of the passenger's side dash (shiny stuff is foil-backed insulation lining interior of cab).......

Which now looks like this with the A/C unit temmmporarily held in place until I can attach the support brackets....

Looks like the A/C control panel will go in the rectangular cut-out....will find a new spot for thr raaadio later......

.


Back to the go-rajjjjjjj......maybe just maybe the V.A. meds will give me a break & I can get this done in one try........???????????

EDIT: UPDATE........the dash brackets are installed & the unit fits with 1/4" to spare.....

IGNORE tose ice cubes...the A/C was malfunctioning..........................

Next.....lower the unit and install these hoses to the unit's fittings....

I'd better find the gas pedal again before doing any other stuff.........

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaahaaaahyennas!!!!!

I did get a little more wiring deleted on the passengers side...the computer has been gone for a while but the wiring still filled up the dash,but it's gone now!

all I've got to hide is the RABS module.....

As for the drivers side.....the fuse box is attached to the steering column out of sight....but there's more cutting to be done on the ignition switch harness...about 26" of excess wiring has to go, so the switch will fit behind the dash.


annnnnnd the little black box & harness on the drivers floorboard is the alarm/remote start module which also needs about 2 foots of excess wire remov....cancel that.....I'll use the long harness to mount the alarm box next to the RABS module up under the dash on the passengers side....there's plenty of room for both modules...

American ingenuity happened!

things were simple in 1936.....gas was 10 cents a gallon/Fords cost $500 brand new/you could leave your hunting rifle on the floorboard of your truck with both windows rolled down/you didn't need an alarm system to park in your own front yard/insurance was $20 a year/you didn't have to worry about a crack-head yanking you out of your truck at a traffic light/etc/etc/etc...that's what my grandpa told me......

Which tells me a little hard work makes for a more polite, humble and grateful society...either that or old folks are senile.
