Just Plain Stupied

Well to chime in on the bumper. I think it'll look hot without one, but... Since the entire front end (entire body to be precise) is composite I'd want that bumper on there to offer at least a little protection. All it'd take is someone thinking the front of their car is shorter than it really is when pulling into the parking spot in front of you and crack there goes that purdy front end. Or that matter you getting a little to close to the curb, at least you would have something there to keep the body from making contact.

I totally agree on both facts....

It really looks slick with no front bumper....:headbang:

BUT....

I live in Louisiana, which doubles the chance somebody will get stupid....:icon_confused:

A-n-d quadruples the chance they won't hang around after they hit it....:annoyed:

For some reason half the time I went to New Orleans(Alot as the company in gulfport i worked for installed gutters and New Orleans was almost where all the work was) I almost was hit by some jackass. Nawlins drivers scare the piss outta me. Someone rear ended me in Chalmette but somehow there was no damage so I didnt bother exchanging insurance:sad:. doubt she had insurance anyway:icon_surprised:

EDIT: Went & bought another bag of fender washers, etc.....

At least I can locate the rear fender in the correct position, drill holes & mount it to the bed will I'm burnin up some brain cells thinkin bout the alignment between the running board & front fender....

If there was only a smiley with gears turning in his head & smoke coming outta his ears..........

hmmmm...........cut 2 inches outta the inside of the runnin board?

hmmmm...........cut 2 inches outta the inside of the runnin board?

Normally, that would work.....and the cut wouldn't be noticeable because the running board fits 2" under the side of the cab....

BUT, the running board & the fender won't butt together completely.....there would be a gap that would increase to about 1/2" where the two pieces bolt together.....it's an old truck/running board phenomenon (wow-big word)....
I quit at 9:30 tonite after shifting the left-rear of the cab 1/2" toward the chassis, & shifting the right-front corner forward & left 1/2"....
Weird, but it worked.....old truks---go figure....Somehow...1/2" left & 1/2" forward&left 1/2" X's 7' diagonally equals 2" of adjustment at the front of the running board (ought plus ought is ought////ought x's ought equals double ought)!!!!!!!!
