Just Plain Stupied

Yay RED. The same color you'll be after working out in that sun all day.

10-fo.....Red & dusty from layin around toooooo much .......backkkk to the heat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: 8:30pm.....Same Day!......I didn't get the passenger's side completeted......It seems.....with a 4 piece hood, when you move anything, 2 other things go out of adjustment...

The drivers side seams are all aligned, but all the slack that I removed on the drivers side disappeared on the passenger side seams...

I'll have to remove at least 1/8th" off the length of the two passengers side hood pieces before they'll even start to fit in place.....

Goood news is.......I won't have to ADD 1/8" to the lengths !......LOL

Practice......practice......:annoyed:

looks mean from front, love the headlights better than I thought I would!!! I think it looks better with out bumper.:icon_thumby:

Even with one fender missing that sure is one SEXY truck you got there Gunner! I was showing my mother this build as she is a big fan of the fat round fendered trucks. She says the only thing that would make it better (just her opinion though) would have been to paint it BLUE. However I think she looks just fine in the RED you chose.

Ranger......there's a Company that makes chrome headlites in a smaller version---around 5" across similar to bullet style headlites in custom motorcycles....I was just thinkin, but I got $100 + invested in these !!

Same thing with the chrome bumper....$150 + invested....I'm gonna put it on as soon as I get the rest of the passengers side assembled....
You guys tell me then......bumper or no bumper ???????

Yep....I really wanted to get that fender & headlite on last nite.......Blue is the color one of my kids demanded.....but I had a 55' Ford truck that color & been wantin a RED one ever since....

Time to get back out in the heat....hope it doesn't get above 99* today...LOL

Honestly it looks great without but maybe someone can photoshop the chrome bumper so we can see a comparison?

i love this thread. someone needs to do this style body swap with a 4x4. i think it would look sweet

BTW sucks for you in the big easy working on that truck. I friend of mine in Gulfport said it was 97 there. Even though its 112 here 97 on the gulf coast is brutal with humidity

10-fo on the 102% humidity (the tires start sweatin at 99* LOL )....I've been livin here a l-o-n-g time & all I gotta do is stand outside for 30 seconds & breath to make myself sweat....start turning a wrench and it's all over with !!!!!

All I did today was drill holes and bolt everything on the drivers side together with stainless steel nuts/bolts....but it is startin to look more like a truk :icon_bounceblue:

one other small problem before I clamp the bumper on.....

When making a full left (or right) turn into a parking lot that has a curb at the entrance (or for the 4 x 4 guys---hitting a mud hole while turning), the rear of the front tires rubs on the inner lip of the front fender just enough to burn the paint off the lip & cause the fender to flex slightly.....

Since I've already moved the cab back as far as I can without making the rear tire look stupid-off-center in the fender well (that's the only way it can be done on a truk with true running boards attached to the front/rear fender,,,,& spent 3 days putting it all back together :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:).....

Seems as though the easiest thang to do now is remove the front spacers from the left & right axle arms----stick a flat washer in place of each 1/2" thick front oem spacer to prevent metal/metal contact----place the removed oem spacers behind the axle arms next to the aft oem spacers---bolt them back together-----then lengthen the radius arms with the adjusting nuts to get the rake back in spec.------then trim 1/2" off the inner edge of the oversize fender well lip on both fenders to get another 3/4" of clearance--------so everything will clear on left/right hand turn/bump/bottom-out situations...

:icon_surprised:

:icon_rofl:

No.....seriously.......

O.K..................................back in the heat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw an o-o-o-o-l-d truk converted to a 4 x 4 a few years ago.....it had some b-i-g fat tires on it & it looke swuuuuuweeeeeet !

you gotsa problem

Yep, but this problem seems minor after moving the body rearward......I wouldn't have thought the front wheels would take up that much space in a turn.....wait a minute....duhhhh....it's the bottoming out that I didn't allow for......now I know why I wanted to move the body rearward an extra half inch ........but talked myself out of it (yea Clown---I told you to listen to me////Shut up! You're hardly ever right---)

(I seem to get in arguements with meself a lot...must be sicilogical:icon_surprised:
