My son's birthday was last week.....we went to the cemetery to visit (long story)......the "anniversary of his murder is in two weeks, so I'm not feeling like doing anything.

My son=in-law (my son's best friend) is overwhelmed by cancer...so I've been spending a lot of time with him at the doctor and hospital (since his dad died from the same thing 10 years ago & his mom is about useless).

His sister & his brother-in-law are like angels helping out...they carry the weight thru this....

so....mods on the truck are down the list because of Life's surprizes!

Hang tough man.

Thanks......."life seemed easier when I returned from the Viet Nam War with a stone-cold attitude".....

Sure... When you're as hard as a rock, you just barrel right through, but look at what you miss.

I don't want to get all touchie feelie on you here, but having people to love and care for is a bitch, but without them, we're nothing but a rock.

Over time, rock fails, too. I know, I work with it every day. It ends up being a little pile of sand.

I can tell that you're as tough as an old shoe, but you've got people that care about you, too. It aint easy, but be the man when you have to, and spread a little of the weight around to the ones that care.

It all works out.

Keep it on the road, pull over when you have to, and call your buddies when you break down.

Later,

Jason went to Heaven 1:30 Monday afternoon

I'm gonna take the next few days to be with my daughter...

The Funeral will be tomorrow which will be Wednesday......

Wednesday will be their Wedding Anniversary.

After sulking some more.....I went out to see why the passenger's door is rattling so much......

The lower door hidden hinge is broken!

That door has never closed right since I built the truck!

I walked over and looked at the driver;s door hinges to see if the hinges were O.K.

SOMETHING LOOKED DIFFERENT ABOUT THEM,,,

The driver's side top door hinge arm is 1" shorter than the BOTTOM hinge.....

So......I walk around and look at the passenger's door hinge again.....

NO WONDER THE BOTTOM HINGE BROKE........

It should be at the top because it's shorter.....the other hinge should be at the bottom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

V.A. MEDS...................they keep you sane----but that's about all that they do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to roll out the trusty mig welder and repair the broken hinge....AND SWAP THEM TOP-TO-BOTTOM.......

then I won't have to SLAM that door any more............

DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Good job figuring that out DeeGee.

Posting from the Galaxy.

I didn't take any pics......too bummed out........

But.............

Everything worked out O.K....in 5 hours--V.A. meds :annoyed: ...the door will close when I push it with my index finger now------instead of getting to the point where I had to use both hands to get it to engage the striker!

:yahoo:

Well done on doing stuff when you're feeling bummed out DG. We like to see the pictures but it's not mandatory, it's more important to know you're up and around and kicking ass. Family first man,
