just got me nother Ranger

hi I am sleprock, I signed on here once and posted then boss 302 jumped my stuff over a question. anyway just got my third ranger. first one was like 88 4 banger with 5 speed, next was 98 ranger 3 liter 4x4 5 speed that was purple and awesome( leaf springs went and no time or money to fix her with young kids, but she keep me alive thru late night winter spinout on I75, fixed her and drove her till springs craped out)
just bought 04 tremor and I tell ya after about 3 years no truck I am so happy to be back.. but finacing 8500 on 04 ranger with 94000 4x4 dont think I paid too much no rust and matching cap.. yall think I paying to much and any thing to watch for with 4.0, or tremor?

Potential timing chain issues were supposedly corrected by that year, but I've seen lots of reports that contradict that. I love the power the SOHC 4 liter makes but it's definitely been a problematic engine for Ford and for consumers. The timing systems on them are a nightmare. Mine is a ticking/rattling timebomb.

8,500 for a 15 year old ranger seems a bit on the high side to me but if you like it and you're happy who cares!

That happens sometimes for one reason or another, No worries. There are more good guys here than those type. Just give them all the info you have on a problem and they can help
