Junkyard Ranger

The steering doesnt look very safe to me. And looks like it would have bump steer from hell. You dont drive this truck on the street do you?

I'll say it for the last time ...I have absolutely NO bump steer NONE ZERO ..the steering is solid just sleeved ..there is a stabilizer on the truck now just not in that pic ........ Remember Chevy's are short side front to back steering I just went short side ..side to side .... they are full width axles on a mid side truck the drag link is longer then it looks .... only vibration I have is them worn out old tires ....

That system was less than perfect, even worse once lifted. 90% of guys upgrade to 'traditional' cross over steering tied to the passenger side knuckle.

You must have flipped the pitman arm to the front side of the box, or are you pushing on the back side of the knuckle?

Sarasota ..Not yet I haven't but one day I will ....

JohnnyU .... On the ranger the pitman arm already faces forward .... and between the drop pitman arm and the high steer arm, I am only at like 3 degrees in angle the arm is almost straight... works beautifully no problems with my steering at all .... it just scares people because no one has done it until now ... if it was NOT safe I would NOT use it ... I have a 17 month old son to worry about along with every one else's children I do NOT want to see any one hurt.

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR COMMENTS TOOK ME 4 YEARS TO GET IT HERE AND ANOTHER 4 MILLION BEFORE IT IS DONE!!!

Thanks ...lots of hard work and lots of deal making to buy the parts lol .... Comming soon body work, paint, and a LARGE small block :icon_hornsup:

BTW the boggers are 18 x 39.5 x 16.5 on 16.5 x 12 mickey classic II

does the back float up alot on ya with the 40's?

i have some issues with the 44's...its like a bobber....;missingteeth;

i stop and it floats up and crosses up a bit......when i start the front digs to china and the back goes down some but wont bite:dunno:

donno yet ..... had 38 swampers on it till this past weekend .... just put the boggers on it yesterday, but from past experiences they dig not float lol I will find out this weekend

just curious, how did you do the front full width? by that i mean by mounting the leafsprings on the ranger to keep everything in perfect alignment. Add some tubing and wed the perches on them on the outside of the frame rail?

doesnt look bad, and really that steering setup is perfectly fine on my buddys blazer with a hd44 on 38.5 tsl's, he has a raised steering arm and a drop pitman arm, and its SOLID as a rock, no wandering, no bump steer.

i gotta get my 39.5 boggers mounted on my other wheels and take a pic

Thanks Guys and here is a picture of how I did the spring mounts and shackles
the mounts are bolted to the side abd bottom of the frame and are also welded
