This morning I went to a junkyard looking for coilpacks for my truck. I searched around and could not find a 4 cyl. I thought rather than waste the trip I would pull off an iacv and a maf. I took them off about a 1999 when I went to pay . the stooge at the counter tried to charge me $55 :icon_confused:. I politely declined the offer. I have gone there a few times before for little things and they either don't charge me or charge very little. please give me your feedback on what it should have cost.

The guy at my local pick and pull would have charged me no more than 10$ for a MAF. However, the big fat smelly sweaty overweight cock gobbling thundercunt of a bitch that works there would have tried to charge me 50$.

Depends on who is working....

Yeah that sounds like a ripoff.

I have a deal at my local yard where I help strip cars in exchange for pulling my own parts. Probably isn't an option for most people but I am friends with the owner.

Dumb. Its almost like they don't want you to buy it. I've been to LKQ here, and had my fair share of rip off, and freebies. I'll buy new ones for what most of the damn people want to charge for used stuff around here. Stupid

x2....the guy at the yard i go to tried to charge me $25 for a used water pump out of a BII when i can get a brand new one from autozone for $21.99. i know he needs to make money, but if i never go back there again then just lost A LOT more money.

Hard to beat over the fence deals!

Yeah, but I love to beat a thief.

To OP.

You know you can also get those coil packs off a V-8 truck.

Ford only makes 2 types of coil packs. 4-post and 6-post. V-8s get the same packs as the 4-cylinders, they just get 2 of them.

It dumbs to me. I dealt with thiefs when I worked at a junkyard. "Here man, i'll give you a 50 and you can just turn your head." I said no thanks, if you want it I'll take it up front. Otherwise I have no interest in your money. He hauled booty after that

LKQ is expensive too, but they have good parts fr a junkyard. They bought out Damrons in Florida. The pull-a-part charged me 24.00 with exchange warranty and even that was overpriced. U pull it junkyards in florida all charge about....10-15 bucks for cheap stuff like that. Its cheaper if you just get the sensor instead of the metal. Sensors are worthless to junkyards, but they recycle the metal so they charge more for the whole assembly.

That's why I like Pull Apart, :icon_thumby:you know up front if they have it and how much it is and what is will fit with no surprises. The one in Knoxville rocks!:headbang:

It is really weird what junkyards will keep. I have seen them keep buckets full of lug nuts, bolts, wiring, and stuff like that but send good stuff like transmissions, axles, windows, etc to the crusher. Yesterday I saw a Dodge Dakota get crushed with a good transmission and both axles, but they kept the fiberglass side skirts? Weird.

Have fun buying used shit off a wrecked car while supporting someones drug habit thinking your such a good person, haha shit they are out to fuk you, had some dick head ask me what seat i wanted and i say driver seat, then the moron says o well
we one sell them as a set for 150, yea get ****ed

Yesturday my dad got a great deal on the stuff we pull from the junk yard. We got a ranger grill for 25, door latch to a Artro van for 20, rager radio for 20, and all the seats out of a wrecked Arstro Van. In total it costed 200 and the seats were in excellent condiotion.

Have fun buying used shit blah blah blah

I would stop if I were you. You already won the most asinine comment award for this thread.
