Josh40601's Build Thread. (D-ranged)

well i took it out last night to Loftis because of that horrible vibration in the rear. We get it up in the air to find the pinion is loose as a used up porn star, and the u-joint was just flopping around like a set of 80 year old tits.

We replaced the u-joint and put a set of taller raked blocks with new u-bolts and tightened the pinion back down. Still leaking out of the driver side axle tube though... I have replaced the bearing, and tried to silicone it, but this thing still pours. Anyone got any ideas?

Did you try replacing or putting in a new seal cause that is what it sounds like. Came a long way since the the last time i saw this thing good job

already replaced it

is the axle shaft itself wore? If it is an older axle shaft, it is not uncommon for the shaft itself to have worn a little, and the seal isnt 'tight' enough around the shaft.

so last night i took the truck out and locked in the hubs, put it in 4 high, and holy cow. The locker stayed locked in and it was like the front and rear ends were fighting themselves. I know it sounds weird, but the truck was acting like both the front and rear were locked, and that i was trying to crawl over something, while i was on flat ground.

I unlocked the hubs, and it went back to normal. I have a 1354E T-case. I didn't put it in 4 low, just kept it in 4 high, and that was for maybe 2 mins. Anyone have any ideas of why the truck would act like this? It was like I was trying to drive with the e brake on. Only problem is, I dont have an e-brake....

were you on dry pave? mine acts like that on dry pave....or it sounds like the front/rear gear ratios are different?

Both front and rear are running 4.56's. I drove the truck in 4 low last weekend on dirt and gravel and had no problem....

Yes I was on dry pavement. The front doesn't have a locker though.

well than I wouldnt worry about it. When would you ever need 4x4 on dry pave? even if the front is open, trucks dont like being in 4wd on dry pave. It even says not to use it in the owners manuals.

Shew. Thats a relief. I'll put it in the dirt today and see if it does it again

thanks boss! Me too!

bushwacker cutouts 1998+

im debating whether or not to get them..id probably be able to squeeze 35s on if i do, but i dont know if id like the look of them, there really wide flares...

are you running full width axles?
