Josh40601's Build Thread. (D-ranged)

nope. Just a set of 64's and a much longer stroke shock

So I noticed that the rear end is limited a lot compared to the front. The front was no where near bumps, and the left side rear was already about 6-8" off the ground.

might try going to softer springs to help from picking up a rear tire, with my stiff duff coils i pick up a rear tire everywhere and it sucks because it gets real tippy

**** that. All i am doing is raising the upper coil adjuster and to lower the front end. Other than that, 64" springs, longer shocks, rear shackle flip. That should do it :)

youll like the 63's out back with the shackle flip....mine does good, but with my ass end being light right now im still picking up tires quite a bit with the stiff coils up front

my coils are stiff, but not too stiff. My shocks bottomed out today.

Makes me want to strip my '78 350 and stuff it all in my ranger, big block and all lol. Keep up the great work that things comin along awesome!!

Thanks man. I just went over to pirate and checked out your build, looks pretty damn good brother. Always liked the old school FS Fords and Chevys.

well i got the flares on (Finally), but still haven't gotten the rear set correctly. Vibrates under heavy load in first and second, but goes away around 40 mph. Soon enough. Anyway, here are some pics after the flares are on. Truck will be painted the first week of next month. Going back to black.

two. Already replaced the Carrier Bearing.

Have you lowered the carrier bearing? I swaped to a 1 piece to fix a vibration coming from the short side becuase of drive line angles.

did not. I took it to a driveline shop (Pro Gear here in San Diego) and first thing he said when he walked out to look at it was, "Well, Your pinion angle is way too high."

So I will fix that first, if it still vibrates, then 1 piece it is.

i dont like the whole 1 piece driveshaft swap, because then you rear shaft is alot more exposed when your out wheeling. i have probably 6 inch lift in the rear of my truck an i have the carrier bearing up inside the frame rails to keep the truck a flat belly an it still doesnt vibrate at all.

i didnt have a problem at 6" either. I'm around 8 in the rear and 10-12 in the front now.
