I just bought some jeep rims from a buddy for $45. They are decent shape and have the bolt-on center caps with 235/75R15 tires. I know the jeep wheels are the same bolt pattern as rangers but I don't know if the center caps work with my existing lug nuts. My lug nuts are fat and designed to hold the center cap that pushes on in place. Would like to use the jeep center caps because the rims are painted with the spray on black bed liner, the real stuff not the flex spray stuff so they look fairly decent. Anyone have any pictures of their rangers with jeep wheels? Would like to see the difference before I do the work to replace the 2 bad tires on the jeep rims and mount them on my truck. Oh by the way, these would be going on my 1999 ranger sport, 4 door, 2wd. Also anyone notice a difference going from 225-70-15's to 235-75-15 other than speedometer change? Don't want my truck to become more of a slow turd at take off lol. Poor truck cant do a burnout unless theres rain or gravel lol.

I have jeep rims on my donor '97 at this very moment. So, they fit.

But uh, smart-alek answer here, you could just undo one lugnut and see if the jeep ones will go on.

What kind of center caps? like these? If so, they actually screw to the wheels, and you can use any lugnut you want.

Yeah I know I can but I just figured I would ask on here while I was at work if anyone has done this. And yes it is center caps similar to those. My thing is my ranger lug nuts are fat and bulky and might rubs on the center cap. I mainly just wanted to see pictures of other rangers with the jeep wheels.

You could always pick up some new acorn nuts that'll fit nice.

well i had pics, but thanks to photobucket they are all gone. i had one set of jeep centers that were very shallow in depth and needed a hole cut for the front hub , my other set has the bigger deeper caps like the one pictured above. going from 225 to 235 tires isnt much of a diffrence, but go get a rear axle from a yard with 4.10's, put new seals and brakes in it and roll it in place, the diffrence is incredible, worth it and i stepped up from 225 70 14s to 255 70 15s. actually has more power as my stock ratio had been 3.45's, my effective ratio is now about 3.73

That's good info. Just been curious about it. Its still just a 2WD so I'm not too worried about my gears. its my daily driver so I need it everyday since I don't have a back up vehicle. Can swap tires easily at work. Just wanted to see some pictures but seems like photo bucket has ruined this site.

Going from 225 to 235 isn't big change but going from 70 to 75 aspect on tire that wide certainly is. 235/75R15 is over 1.5" taller than a 225/70R15 (Same difference as going from 235/75R15s to 31x10.5R15s).

Your truck would have come with 3.73gears (only choice of 4x2/3.0/s/c). Personally, with 3.0, I would want 4.10 gears. Alternately, I would put my existing tires on the new rims/buy new 225/70R15s.

yeah I definitely don't have the money or time to put 4.10's in. Would be nice but inconvenient at this time. I'm either going to put 235/75/15's on the rear and 225/70/15 on the front, OR 225/70/15 on the jeep wheels, OR something else absurd depending on the quality of the tires I have. Main reason is winter is coming around the corner and need some better tires on the rear.

I know what you mean there, ive found some better tires on let it go and facebook marketplace, one set is a full set of 4 winter only tires like blizzack they only want 100 for, bad thing is size is wierd, like 205 65 15, theyd be super small, like 25". With my now 4.10 rear id almost have a creeper 1st and could start in 2nd, probly could only do 70 at best. Im thinking about it though, the stock 14s I have are bald and my big 255 70 15s are too wide for snow, tried them once on my 93 4x4, dont want them on a 2wd in winter. Btw, my 4.10 rear axle I got ran me 200. I put 35 in seals in it, fresh oil, brake spring kit, new wheel cylinders and lines.

on edit: set up a flickr account, have to click link but can post pics now, heres those jeep rims, has 215 70 15's on them now, looks small compared to the 255's on the alloy rims.

just put my steel wheels back on for winter. (i know, were not there yet, but the weather is still nice and id rather not be doing it in the rain cold or snow) thought id use the bigger jeep centers, well they still wont fit over the front 2wd bearing dust covers, so ive got the big centers on the back ,and the smaller centers on the front with a clearance hole cut in them. (did that a long time ago for my 93 4wd for the manual hubs to go through)
