To begin, I did search, both before I registered through the archives, and after with the search feature. I also read Allen's sticky. All very informative, but not exactly what I was looking for. Looking at these wheels:

Which the seller seems to think are aftermarket, but I believe to be factory Jeep (I've seen them on several) option. Tires are 30x9.50, not worried about that. My problem is that I know that the bolt pattern (5x4.5) is the same, but I'm concerned with the hub and backspacing. Factory Ranger wheels are what, 4" and Jeep are 5.25. Anyone have any experience with these wheels?

3.75 is the standard backspacing on rbv's and jeep tj's,xj's etc.

I've seen the same rims for sale up here and had the same questions. The seller said they "are kinda stock Jeep rims", 15 x 8. He also said "they have been on a ford ranger before" when I followed up about bolt pattern/backspacing/hub. With some searching I found them as 93-94 and/or 97-99 Jeep Wrangler wheels. My only issue is the hub (and driving two hours out of town to try them on isn't an option right now). I do like them though, so it's almost worth it (if I can talk him down a few bucks).

RBV=Ranger Based Vehicle

or Rigged Boob Viewage, better than Random I think

Well I found these elsewhere than here, $500, and the 30x9.50's are nearly brand new. The guy lives about an hour and ten minutes or so from me, so I may just go try them on. I need new tires anyway, and I guess I could always sell the wheels to offset the costs.

I'm looking at a similar set this weekend and I'll let you know if they work on my 2WD

Those wheels will fit... but they do have an undesirable offset to them. I ran them on my 2WD for a while and they will fit. Using 30X9.50 tires, you have a rub issue with the lower shock bolt rubbing on the outer edge of the wheel and the tire on the sway bar. On a 4WD, your not going to be able to fit the hub through the center hole without some machine work.

Oh, those ARE a factory Jeep wheel... not too sure on what model though.

That sounds like something a wheel spacer would probably fix. Good to know.

I love the look of these wheels, but I had issues too. I'm running a 4/4 drop on my truck and they just simply WON'T work for me. I had the issue with the shock bolt rubbing the inner rim.

I got some 1.5" spacers, and then tried them... that made them sit just a tad too far out for my use. I also won't be able to fit a 215/65/15 on them without looking good.

I'm going to sell them. I'm asking $250 for a set of five (with tires, 65-75% tread).
