so i was wondering if yall had heard anything about being able to do this. i have a 98 ranger extended cab and i was wantin to do somethin like this to her. i had an 83 that i was able to manage to do something similar. i was just a huge pain trying to put the doors back on. i imagine it would be the same way if at all possible for the 98. but if yall had any advice as to this i would be greatly appreciative.

i did this. it's not exactly like a jeep, but it works for me. i can take off or put on both my doors in 30 secs or less.

you could make some hinges like regular house door and weld em on. idk how safe that would be in a crash or something but its an idea

thanks yall!
rico9 i like how you did yours. i may end up doin something similar to that

Ive been looking around on how to quickly take my doors off for when I build my halfdoors. I like the bolt idea.

Mine come off the ranger but I didn't do the bolt deal. I left the whole hinge and just pulled all 4 bolts out of the door. The plate in the doors should stay and there are clips that hold it in. Next take a hacksaw or cut off wheel and make the top hole of each hinge a "U" shape. Now put the top bolt back in the door and set the door onto the hinge. Tighten the bolts up snug and close the door. Then you should be able to adjust the door accordingly, meaning it may be out a little farther on the bottom or top. Once you have that set open the door back up and tighten the bolts. If you have power windows and locks you will have to make connections through a trailer plug or something else. Mine had power windows and locks and I got rid of them as well as the speakers. I only put the top bolts in as it holds it just fine, but you can oput all of them in if needed.

damn...i didnt think about the speakers in the doors. i dont have power windows or locks so that wont be as bad
tahnks for the tip

I did the bolt thing too. Just do not remove the hinges from the body. If you do it's a real pain in the arse to get them back into alignment.

I traced where the hinges were on to the door and on the body with a sharpie. when I put it back together everything lined up just fine.

i use 3/8 pins

haven't tried it but this is what I would try use these for the door pins

and use a quick disconnect for the speaker wire

Those were exactly what I was going to use.
