hey guys schroader here, I got a buddy that has a junk yard here in ohio county. he has an 8.8 out of a 96 0t 97 explorer. we get them in all the time. it is limited slip to. I can ask him what he would take for it if you guys are interested.

Ask him if he has any of those CFC V8 explorers layin around with the complete motor and trans, I'm lookin for the motor, trans, and ECM/engine harness that runs it, wondering what price he'll charge for that, thanks

Because of price and selectability....the unit bearing is $70 each and keeps the axle live...switchin to either RBV knuckle will allow unlocking the front axle, increasing mpg (she's only getting 13 now) as well as less mileage on the front axle parts, dshaft, tcase, etc. She coming up on 200K....and Liberty PAP, I'd stay away, me and John priced an 8.8 there and they wanted $350 with an exchange, they are not a franchised PAP, they are just using the name, they actually pull the part for you...

you went to the wrong liberty lol...there is liberty auto parts and liberty auto salvage....they are way different ....the good yard is decently cheep they let you pull everything and the yard is pretty nice


as for the hubs, the 13 mpg's is what i got in my 98 cherokee....i dont think anything will cross over...if it would im sure a ton of jeep guys would have already done it

Well, most jeep guys don't like fords to begin with Fords are better anyways, afterall, they use the explorer axle as a popular swap...I wanted to see if I could start a trend on the jeepers...Besides, I think I'm finally gettin her to come around and get a RBV to wheel!!Now if only I can get my rig fixed...

I'm trying to get this 1st gen ranger. v8 swap, 1 ton axles. I have the cash and a donor vehicle. But somebody is ahead of me on buying it so i may take a completely diff direction.

Jon, like you said, I'm sure we can find something...I'm doing studying and test through wed, but after that I can start planning an attack on my rig, plannin the bumpers, and putting a bandaid on the front axle if I can find one big enough
