SVT

well, we went back early this morning to go look for it....and TB was closed due to all the rain....so Rick and I went to the Admin. Offices and told them what we needed to go look for....and they let us in the gate:icon_thumby:

granted we only got to go on the main entrance road and park in the lot closest to the trail we needed to look....

but, we not only found the radio....but his sunglasses and knife :yahoo: :yahoo:

and yes, we need more RBV's out there :icon_thumby:

l8r, John

lol where was the stuff at? was the radio damaged from the rain?

It was on winch hill, right where I got out of John's truck to winch him up, the spot where you and Allen went straight on the ridge, its the area near 8 and D meet...the sunglasses and knife was where I bent down to get the winch cable hooked to the tree, and the radio about 25 feet from there, where I got out of John's truck....The radio still works, its designed to work in rough weather conditions, but even if it didn't, at least I had a radio to turn in and get another one....and Yeah, we Definitely need more blue ovals out there....Jon, one of these days we'll get up there to grille or hangout and BS...

we need to install a D35 and 8.8 out of an Expo/Ranger first:icon_thumby:

dont need that stuff....dont you remember me bragging on how tuff a 7.5 can be?????lol

He needs it, He stripped 8 teeth off his ring gear, had to pull his carrier out, and remove the ring gear off the carrier so he could drive home, not an easy task out on the trail with limited tools:icon_thumby: btw, that wrench made it a whole lot easier, next time I see ya I'll get it back to ya:icon_thumby:Hey Allen, get those pics posted up!!

yea thats fine i actually found anothe last night lol...

allen i dont know if john told you but we found a cheep place for 8.8's and d-35's so if you have some spare money soon and we'll go scoop you some up

Hey Jon, where is this place at and how cheap are we talkin?? I've got a new project I'm doin on Brandizzle's Jeep, she needs to have one of her unit bearings replaced...thinkin of seein if I can bolt on a D28, D35, or D44 knuckle onto the D30's axle...think it could be done or do you have some measurements for em??
SVT

dont have any measure ments...we went to glissons today in evansville the price sheet says complete front 4x4 axle is $60 and a rear axle was only $55 or something like that

actually saw a 4.10 disk brake 8.8 at liberty...also i saw a 99ish cherokee with a complete axle at glissons...

why switch the knuckle? id say the unit bearing that the d-30 is better design then the dana 35/44 stuff

Because of price and selectability....the unit bearing is $70 each and keeps the axle live...switchin to either RBV knuckle will allow unlocking the front axle, increasing mpg (she's only getting 13 now:icon_confused:) as well as less mileage on the front axle parts, dshaft, tcase, etc. She coming up on 200K....and Liberty PAP, I'd stay away, me and John priced an 8.8 there and they wanted $350 with an exchange:icon_surprised:, they are not a franchised PAP, they are just using the name, they actually pull the part for you...
