James duff 5.5 lift build trend

looking goodlet us know how you like the james duff lift kit. trying to decide if i wanna to do the same. i have a skyjacker class 2 but think it is tired.

So far this kit has been amazing. Every part has fit perfect like it was made by ford. The radious arms have to weigh 35 pounds they are a lot bigger in person. So far I am very happy with the kit so far. And the rear leaf springs are made by Deaver which is great I went to there web site to see if you can order them from there and they don't sell them. I guess they only make them for James duff. I researched the kit for over two months before buying it. Im hoping it performs as good as the install is going

O by the way I ordered my tires last night. 35/12.5/15. Coming from Florida. Can't wait. Now I'm trying to figure out what size rims to get. I don't want the tires to stick out to much from the body.

15x8, with 3.75 BS is what many people run. any less backspacing and lots of rubbage occurs. they will stick out a bit but not bad

got a one piece drive shaft. sanded it and painted it. turned out lookin brand new.

Don't forget to trim the gas tank skid plate a bunch :icon_thumby:

I have the JD stage 3 on my 97 Splash Standard cab and will say the ride with the variable rate coils seems alot more road freindly then my SJ Class 2 ever did. The lift between the 2 is about the same, the Duff may sit a tab bit lower. Either of the kits clears 35's pretty decently. I had the old SJ set up and it is my understandign they have made a few changes to the lift over the years.

I never had any real issues with my SJ set up but will say I like the JD better over all.

I'm upgrading my U joint tonight. I'm hoping it goes smooth. I'll post pics soon
