I haven't thought about my AC since this time last summer. (Or maybe the one before I can't remember) I didn't have ya'll here to give me advise and since it is getting hot again I really want to get it fixed.

So here is what I know. If i have it recharged it will stay cool for about 2 days and that's it. We have tried the UV dye additive or whatever it is to check for leaks, but to no avail. I could have it recharged every 2 days, but the money would not last long lol. I have a '91 ranger that I could pull AC parts off of if I want to. The only problem is what should I try first? or just pull the whole AC system? or any other ideas on finding the leak? Thanks in advanced!

You going to have to find the leak. I would guess that most people will not charge it knowing you have a leak. If you can't see the leak it might be in the evaporator core since it is enclosed and hard to see.

If you have a good shop around you could ask them to put system under vacuum and see if you can hear air rushing into system. It is a pain but it is worth a try.

I was thinking the evaporator. Would one from a '91 also work?

A '91 evap core I believe should swap to a '94, yes. Make sure you flush it out good though (especially if your '94 uses R-134a freon).

I just checked the part numbers on oreillys and they are the same one :) Thats going to save me a very pretty penny :)
