I think that's what I'm bout to do also. I already have my extra B2. It has the A4LD and a manual t case. My Ranger has a 4.0 and A4ld. That means I already have everything I need for the swap, I think. The electrical scares the crap outta me tho.

The electrical isn't too bad, you just need a wiring diagram. Make sure you have the engine harness, the computer, and all that stuff. There is a lot of good info in the tech library that can help through the entire process.

Mine will be a summer project. I'll have plenty of time to play w it. I hate destroyin my ranger, but I'd rather have the 4wd.

hey guys, got the left head off today.....twas a BITCH.....the head bolts were a pain in the ass, took a 13 pound sledge hammer to get them loosened. the exhaust manifold bolts were even worse, it looks like someone mixed and matched a bunch of different bolts to get the manifolds back on. 4 or 5 broke off while i was tryin to get them off....even after 2 days of soaking in penetrating oil. got one more bolt in the right hand manifold and then the right head will be out.

everything on the left side looks fine, head gasket is old, but no cracks, tears, or holes.

here's the gasket that goes under the intake manifold, looks like there's coolant all over it

well, the right hand head gasket and head seem to be intact. i'm gonna take it to my shadytree guy once i get the block out and let them check everything out. we'll see............
