So ive this ranger for a while and today after letting the truck sit for almost four days of heavy rain i went to go drive it. I put the clutch in, put it in reverse, back out of my parking space, put it in neutral and when i went to put it in first the clutch pedal was stuck on the floor. I tried pumping it and it came back up.... Drove it the rest of the day and this happend at least two more times. When it gets stuck to the floor it seems to make a noise like a bad bearing? Thats how it sounds anyways, and after i get the pedal to come back up the clutch pedal feels ribbed when i pump it. It eventually goes back to normal.

What the F is up?

Seems as if the slave cylinder is sticking. That noise might be the 'throwout bearing', which rides against the fingers of the pressure plate when you step on the pedal. Normally, it barely rotates until the pedal is pushed. Yours might be hanging enough to make noise due to rotating at higher speeds than normal (just thinking out loud here)
Were it mine, I would consider flushing the hydraulic system to see if that made it work better. You might find some gunk in there as brake fluid is hygroscopic. It LIKES water, and will absorb it. May cause rust.
Back when, I would leave my truck parked for a few days, go to drive, and the clutch would not release. My fix was to put the truck in gear, press on the pedal, and then start the engine. Made a little fuss, but it hasn't occurred in a long time, so why worry.

sticky slave

Do yourself a favor-if you have not replaced any of the vital parts of your trans(clutch, pressure plate, slave cylinder, and resurface flywheel) in a while, do so. Its like getting a new truck. That slave is probably shot-I know mine was. I just didn't know how bad till I took it out. The throwout bearing was not staying centered as it was supposed to, and it was scored around the middle of the bearing face. Matter of time before that would have left me on the side of the road. I constantly had to pump the clutch as I would get a low pedal while driving, even after repeated bleedings-gravity and full pedal pressure(pump and hold like brake bleeding). Repaced all, and now its great. No pumping, and shifts great. When you bleed, make sure you get CLEAN fluid to come out at the bleeder. You'll thank me later..:icon_thumby:
