what do you think of adding lucas oil stabilizer to a 2.9's engine oil... I was reading some of the customer testimonials on lucas product's website...

there are alot of testimonials, saying lucas oil stabilizer, added to their engine oil, quitened the ticking sound of many people's hydraulic lifters...

what's your opinion on using lucas oil stabilizer... anyone, have any experience using this product... if so, do you think it's any good, as they advertise it to be, for helping to quiten an engine's ticking hydraulic lifters...

I used it in mine. Only a bit less than they recommend per quart. If I hadn't already done an oil change I probably would have added more. It worked great. Quieted my lifters down considerably and was definitely quieter on startups.

that's interesting to hear that it quited your lifters down, considerably and was definitely quiter on startups, as you mentioned... sounds like it should do the same for my engine then, too... thanks for the info...

did you notice the differance, quite soon... or, did it take a while, before, you were able to notice the differance...

is your engine getting continually more quite, the longer your using it... or, how many miles have you put on your vehicle, since you started using it...

once, a person starts using the lucas oil stabilizer... how may miles would you guess it takes, of driving, to gain the full benefit of using the lucas oil stabilizer to reach it maximum effectiveness, on helping to quiten the engine's lifters...

on a 5 quart oil change, how much of the lucas oil stabilizer are you suppose to use, one quart??

one quart lucas rest fill up with recomended oil. I use it in my 4.0, but I use the synthetic stabilizer with synthetic oil. I didn't have a knock or anything just would swear by lucas. I am a deisel mechanic and we use it in our rigs to help with engine wear.

try useing a heavier grade oil. Thats all lucas does. If your in a colder area, imagin what the oil is like

was your engine hydraulic lifters ticking, before you starting using the synthetic lucas oil stabilizer with your synthetic engine oil, as you said you didn't have a knock or anything and would swear by lucas...

what brand synthetic egine oil do you recommend... do you know if a brand, called mystik synthetic engine oil, made by citgo is any good... I've heard mystik jt-6 grease, made by citgo, is suppose to be really good... so, maybe mystik's synthetic engine oil is pretty good, too... what's your opinion, have you ever heard of it, before...

how many miles should a person go between oil changes, when using synthetic engine oil, with lucas synthetic oil stabilizer... what do you recommend, and what brand oil filter is best to use...

never heard of mystik. me personally I use Castrol Syntec and the lucas, and right now I think I have about 3500-4000 miles on this oil change and the oil is still clear (starting to get draker but stil clear) probably gonna change it this weekend at work.

no knocking or funny noises what so ever, I have just seen first hand how good Lucas helps big deisels and diffs and such, so I have been using in it my vehicle for quite some time now. my old ranger (91 3wd excab) had an oil leak till I started putting Lucas in it seemed to help control the leak (went from adding a quart a week to only adding a quart a month. that was the regular lucas not the syn. stabilizer though.

p.s. oh yeah I use the fram tough guard filter.
