should i buy a 30g for $100

or a 60g classic for $150?

The classic is newer, more space, and I believe thinner.

If you want to put video on your ipod, get the 60GB.

But check craigslist before you buy.

You may be able to find a better deal.

that's where i'm at now... not sure how much video i would download, because i don't really have any now.

i don't really watch any series shows besides like grey's anatomy and some other random shows (don't make fun of my grey's anatomy! lol)

i feel like i might just like the classic better anyway, it most likely has small technical advances, that are worth the extra money, plus then i can hopeully keep it and keep adding music to it for years to come, unless it gets stolen like my last one (god damnit :annoyed:)

For the 30 gig you would be paying $3.33 dollars per gigabyte. For the 60 gig you would paying $2.50 per gigabyte. In that sense the 60gig is a better deal. With that being said are these used or refurbished? I would never spend more $50 on used hard drive based mp3 player, from my experience the hard drives are prone to failure. I have had two iPods (a 10 gig and a newer 20gig), the first one had hard drive problems and the soldering for the headphone jack was weak and so the sound eventually had lots of static. The 20gig developed hard drive problems in a much shorter period of time. I know other people who have had problems with the hard drive based iPods but haven't heard any real complaints about the Nanos or iPod touch. I bought a 30gig zune (the one the size of a brick) when I was 17 and it served me well until I decided I needed something smaller to take to work with me (replaced it with a 16gb zune). But between the two go for the 60gig, less money for they space and its newer so less risky.

Zen's are cool, I've liked them for a long time. It came down to that and a Zune, and I opted for the Zune since I got a good deal on one. I've never liked the iPod much, but I'd get the 60gig. You can never have too much space.

Remember that the CURRENT classic isn't a 60G, it's 120g

But a new current one is $249.

they just bumped the Nano from 8g to 16g but that isn't enough to make me buy one
when Nano's get to 32Gig I'll be one of the first in line, until then....

Get a Zune! I have an iPod and Zune, the Zune is much better!

x2 on the zune.

i wont ever go back to ipod after getting mine. and with zune you arent paying a dollar per song. you can pay 15 bucks a month or 50 bucks for 3 months and download as many songs as you want. i get my moneys worth every single time.

Sure, but so can any of the others as well.

An iPod can be loaded with mp3's you make at home from CD's...

I have music on my Zune from CD's, they play fine.

I got my 30G Zune for Christmas a little over a year ago, I like it.

i put all my CD's on my Zune and now i just download them from their store.

got my 30G when they first came out awhile ago and havent had any problems

I got a zune as well. got mine ofr pennies at woot.com. refurbed of course, but so what. it's size is a bit of a drawback and i'm not too keen on the navigating when you're choosing music. the radio is nice but it comes in poorly at times. You also don't have to DL software like i tunes since it's already an MS product.
It also survived a tumble from the highway when i was on the bike. doing about 80 and fell outta the tank bag. Went the next day to look for it, saw it on the shoulder, picked it up and went home to charge it. still going strong to this day.:icon_thumby:

IMHO the Zune pad is 100X better than the iPod wheel..
The Zune software is much better than iTunes.
The radio has really good reception for me, better than most other portable devises.
I've dropped my Zune many, many times, I did manage to crack the outer glass after a year from dropping it on my rough shop floor where a raised piece of concrete hit the screen, a simple case would have prevented it.
