Since I got the truck a few months ago I've had a charging problem, where sometimes the volts would read low, the rear antilock brakes light would come on and i'd lose turn signals. The alternator had recently been replaced so before i go replacing parts i wanted to make sure i knew what the problem was.
well last weekend it got bad, normally i can cycle the key and get it working but it was getting harder and harder to do. this weekend i went out and probed around with a volt meter. looks like the problem lies with the sator priming wire.
the red batter light should turn on when i put the truck into the on position but it doesn't. we tested the voltage across this wire on the back of the alternator LG/R seen here and got voltage once ot twice while cycling the key. I managed to get it charged once but as soon as i turned it off i was unable to get the truck charging again.
my diagram's a little lacking. Has anyone had experience with the key switch going bad? or maybe my charge indicator light is busted? I'm pretty sure the problem is with the sator priming line
