I have a question about what restricts the air flow more, the intake or the exhaust? Would it be better to replace the muffler or the air intake? Witch would give me more power, or will it be noticeable?

I think most of the experts on here will tell you neither of them will help with performance. Im no expert though, just passing on info ive received from this site.

Edit: neither gave me a noticeable power increase. They look and sound cool though.

Best is just a good tune-up with a stock motor.

i have done both custom intake and exhaust, and i'm no expert at this, but i like to believe it has woken my engine up; made it easier to get up hills/accelerate. However, neither will get you very much in the hp and torque area..if any at all. I agree doing a tune up will help. The first and best thing you want to look at if you are worried about restriction and getting anything noticable is doing a port and polish on the head, re-working the intake and exhaust manifolds to match the airflow along with the custom intake tubing and exhaust work. But i can bet you the easiest way and, in the long run most cost effective, would be either to drop in a donor v8 or the famous (or infamous lol) 2.3T if thats the engine you have. Good luck with what you choose though!

I think you will see more difference with the exhaust. I've done both on different vehicles I've owned.

look dude dont waste your money on the intakes and exhaust like i did only to have your brain think your truck is accelerating faster, when i did a stop watch test 10 times a peice with each and with the exhaust and intake on my 3.0 with 4.10s 0-60 was 8.9 secs with out the exhaust and intake it was 9.0 secs average in the ten tests i did, so there really isnt much difference. i put the Jet chip in and the same two test, averaged 8.4 secs. i will have to do a video on it sometime

Intake and exhaust is only the tip of the iceberg in restrictions. Emissions clogs up alot of flow, computer tuning makes a big difference, fuel flow, fresh ignition components, timing, etc.

Theres a lot in a vehicle that restricts power, it's just up to you on how much of the beast you want to unleash

Intake and Exhaust Don t offer much in the way of opening up a stock motor. However if youa re willing to invest in porting and polishing the heads so you can flow a greater volume of air and reworking your fuel delivery you will see huge profits, (including cams and timing), emmisions need to go or flow better, ignition is a good add to an extent but spark will not benefit as much as proper plug temp and gap. Get teh intake, get the exhaust, but dont stop there. Keep modding, keep improving and LITTLE BY LITTLE you will see a difference.
