I am looking solve my brake hose length issue by installing some 16 inch long limit straps. These are the ones I am looking at. Is there any reason not to attach them as mocked up in the picture?
Thanks
Shawn

Talk to 4x4Junkie about limit straps. He has the king of limit setups on his BII.

If brake lines are your only problem, why would you want to limit your wheel travel? Why not get a longer brake line or relocate where yours comes out of the coil bucket?

Agreed. Don't band-aid for a safety item like brake hoses. Get the right length hoses for it, then worry about straps later.

All it is is a cable run thru a tube over the frame to limit droop without limiting flex... I'm a little surprised I haven't seen it copied more widely yet. :dunno:

I was thinking about doing this as a secondary strap when im crawling up hills to limit both sides from drooping at once if i have problems with the front end lifting alot when going up hills.

I see no problem with that location.

That's where mine are, just look close:

Agreed tho, get some longer brakelines when you can just so you never have to worry about it...I'm strapped so my axle shafts don't hit on the radius arm upper/lower retainer bolts inside the beam (cuz I was a dummy and didn't trim them when I installed my long arms :icon_confused:). Contact will blow a shaft in a heartbeat...

Why not pull them and cut them? It should take 15 min and you can gain travel!

lol uhh I've got many more problems at hand as the picture describes which rate higher on my list of priorities :icon_rofl:

Agreed tho I just don't do enough wheelin to justify that particular modification since I will SAS possibly this summer...:icon_welder:

I disapprove SAS (death wobbling POS)... be a TTB promoter! If you can't justify cutting some bolts how can you justify a SAS? Has it failed you?

Sorry I have a soft spot for TTBs. People talk shit about them all the time where I live and im guna prove all those ****ers that they are awesome!

my TTB has served me well as a commuter and occasional offroader. I just want something different now. It rides great, flexes great, strong and easy to work on...it has perfectly suited me.

I am one of the few promotors as well. Believe me Im not a hater lol

But, I am going to solid axle now for a change in scenery and just to be able to say I've "done it". Never content with something for very long...I guess that is just my nature :dunno:

Ok, my reason for thinking the straps is that the stock lines moved (as pictured) are just barely to short at full droop. I have purchased the following part numbers.
1999 F350 SUPERDUTY---H3381186/H381185
both are 25" in length
1985 RANGER 2.8L----BH107300
these are 22" in length. The first ones are too long as with full weight on and wheel at full lock right the hose rubs the 31.5 tire. Full droop mine are too short, hence the strap.

How about purchasing the correct length braided stainless lines, tying them back properly, and not worrying about it?

My stainless braided brake lines I can adjust at either end so they curve inwards - away from the tire.
I'm a proud TTB promoter as well! I love it when solid axle D44 people flap their lips about my "complicated and puny" D35 TTB. None of them realize it's the same axle u-joints. Until they snap axles/joints on the same trail as me with the same size tires. Useless Rubicons :icon_rofl:

ttb is a proven commodity. even with stock buckets.

for a truck that gets thrashed that has proven a fail. anything over 1 ton lines in the average braided offering has proved out weak and work fails at one end or the other.....the proper way is shown by mercurymullet below and above...

you can not easily fit 35 spline axles, you can go 30 spline though which is huge.......theres allot of ways to go bigger with a d44. pro and con are dictated by end use for the most part. i was busting internally with the d35 more often then anywhere else at the end. the d35 is not equal to a 44 in axle shaft strength by a large margin.

Love my TTB:headbang:

this is how you mount a brakline on a lifted or hi travel ttb if it can pull the line past dropping the stock bucket mount.

you can drop from the pivots and go across the beams as well.
