hey
so i opened my radiator cap and it was still warm so vapors were coming out and i inhaled some and my mouth tasted like anti feeze? this happened like 20 minutes ago.do you think im gonna be okay?i know anti freeze is really bad

ok man.thank you.just got a little worries cause i know anti freeze is some bad stuff

As long as you didn't drink it you'll be fine! Just snort some water up your nose and swish some water around and spit it out. Smelling antifreeze won't hurt you.

Unless you sat there and inhaled fumes until you passed out, you'll be fine.

If you actually swallowed a bunch it could wreck your liver, but you know what they give you as an antidote to protect your liver?

Alcohol....

Sounds like it's time for Tequila shooters dude!!!

so wait did you just give me a doctors order to drink? sweeeeeetttttttt now only if i could get a doctor to write that down for me.lol..so you think i will be okay guy?

No. You're gonna die.

Someday.

Well, I know it's not anti-freeze, but I inhaled concentrated gasoline fumes and had the worst breath for a couple hours. I'm still alive and it's been 5 years.
I've probably eaten the equivalent to a quart of oil.
Inhaled enough paint fumes that my snot was the color of the paint for a week.
I'm still alive, allbeit I'm gonna probably die sooner than if I never worked on my own cars.

Toxic dose > 0.5 mL/kg (approx. 0.5 g/kg)

Lethal dose = 1.4 mL/kg (approx. 1.5 g/kg), or 100 mL for adults (70 kg).

With early diagnosis and correct treatment even patients who have ingested more than 500 mL of ethylene glycol have survived (Gabow, 1986; Turk, 1986; Vites, 1984; Peterson, 1981).

So to summarize as long as it was a quick or pretty short inhaling encounter and not any actual INGESTION into your stomach you will be fine!! But if you sit there for many minutes at a time and inhale you could get dizzy or up set stomach etc etc

Had a big drop of it fall in my mouth while I was trying to break a bolt loose working on my Integra.

I just swished some beer in my mouth, spit it out. Finished off the bottle and went back to work. ...Except this time with a paper towel wrapped around where it was dripping from.

Dude, one day I opened my rad cap b/c the cap was cool to the touch, but apparently still under pressure. I got a mouthful of the stuff, just went and spit it out and swished some water around. Never got sick from it.

Heck, I've even swallowed a few drops of the stuff. The ethylene glycol has to be ingested, usually for a full grown human about a mouthful, for it to be harmful.

Inhaling it won't kill you. Go out back, have a few shooters with AllanD while you review his 2012 PA Gubernatorial write-in campaign, and shoot some afrin to get rid of the smell.

stuff taste like mountain dew without carbonation... just saying
