currently have a 93 ranger xlt 3.0 4x4 auto and the trans took a crap and truck is stuck in nuetral...is it possible and if so what would i need to put a 4.0 in my truck besides engine, trans, t-case, driveshaft, wire harness, ecu???

i have done swaps before my civic coupe had a benson sleeved turbo GSR engine with many, many mods until it got robbed/stripped...my se-r has a turbo neo vvl sr20 in it and i built my brother's 91 turbo VVL se-r...so if it is possible to put that drivetrain in my ranger i think i can do it

any tech help would be apreciated...thanks guys

You shouldn't have to change the driveshaft unless the lengths end up different. For that matter you shouldn't have to change the t-case either (unless you have an auto case and want to go to a manual one)

I'd try to find a 93-95 Ranger or possibly an Explorer with the drivetrain you want, either by buying a wrecked one or by going to a junkyard. Pull the rad and hoses, motor, trans, engine harness, ECU, and the airbox/MAF/air tube. If you get it out of a Ranger set up similar to yours, it should be plug an play. Explorer may or may not be so easy, I have no direct experience on that one.
