So last weekend i was wheeling and i got stuck. So i was pulled out by this guy and his f250. He ripped my rear bumper almost off and my tailgate is almost off now. So i was thinking ofmakinga custom one at home. It was going to be made of sold steel and be painted black or blue. Its also Going to have 2 back up lights in it and mabe a refelcter or two. But is there anyway of welding it to th truck? So it cant rip off so easy. i wish you can see my diagram i will pull it up tommorw im to tired right now..

But what troubles do you think i might run into? I think if its made of 100% solid steel it be heavey as hell! So maby it could be like a 1/4in think steel with two solid steel pipes behind the bumper...

Tell me what you think of it. And how it should, what problums i might have, and if this is leagl or not. (sorry for my spelling im tired and dont care about my spelling). There was a front bumper also but i frist wanna see is this can work or not.

I made a custom brush gaurd for my truck and found out that instead of welding it to the frame, custom mounts were the way to go. That way you can take it off easy if you need to work on it. I found holes that were allready there and went from there. the only welding you should have to do is welding brackets to the bumper and/or the truck.

So your saying custom mounts would be good for my truck? Because i mean i dont want a Big ass truck pulling me out and he ripps off my rear bumper agian... haha

if i were you i would just get another bumper to replace it, and get yourself a class 3 or 4 hitch for the rear that bolts up to the frame to get pulled out with.

much easier for someone who has so many questions (no offense, i'm no better off than you are in this situation, however it should work just fine, if not better, and take way less time and probably less money.

I build custom bumpers and you don't want to build something too strong because if you hit something, instead of the damage being done to the bumper it will go to the next weakest link which will be the frame...
