I'm sure I got a short.

The dipstick said,, check it in park while it's on level ground and warm.
The truck was running in park. It is parked on level ground. And the he temperature gauge said it was 195 degrees.

I don't know why or even how it would only have oil on one side of the lipstick. Wipe it clean and try again. If same result, I would recommend slowly adding some, maybe 1/2 a quart and check again. Possibly another 1/2 quart after that if needed.

Best guess is that one side is dragging on something as you remove it.

I'd blame it on that pesky damn short that you haven't found in 619 posts.

@Uncle Gump
I would blame it on that short as well if it was the same vehicle.

The question I asked about the transmission dipstick only having fluid on one side and not both was about my brother's Chevrolet C3500 HD TowTruck.
And yes I asked In my post, " What does it mean when MY transmission dipstick has fluid on one side and not the other? ".
Because essentially the truck is mine once I have it running and able to use and it's reliable, I'll be the one using it not my brother even though he's the actual owner.

He has too much on his plate with his job that he does now being a property manager.
So as I said the TowTruck is essentially mine because I'll be the one driving it and using it.

I believe that @SenorNoob is right and there is some transmission fluid pooling in the dipstick tube or something. And that the dipstick is dragging across that pool or whatever's happening on one side and not the other.

I just got done playing around with that same vehicle I put a whole quart and a half of transmission fluid in it and it's pulling a lot better than it was.
I don't believe I'm actually getting an accurate reading on the dipstick still however.
I parked today in a new spot tomorrow I'll start it let it warm up check the transmission dipstick again see what it reads and also look for leaks underneath. Because the spot it is parked at now there is no puddles or pools or anything.

I do have it spelled it is starting and running better than it was before though.
Before you had to fight with it till you could get it to start. I believe I still need another shim on the starter however.

I got to fix a busted brake line and I got to figure out if the transmission lines have a hole in them or not.
Or why it's leaking transmission fluid at least I believe it's leaking transmission fluid.
When I 1st started working on it the dipstick tube for the transmission was not even in the hole in the transmission housing where it goes into. And it was not even bolted down.
So that might be the leak there. I've got it in the hole now and bolted down as well.

One of the lever arms that works the car lift on the back doesn't work properly.
It's got a stuck actuator I do believe.
( I think actuator is the right word. )
The lift also has a hydraulic leak that I haven't even looked for yet.
And one of the hydraulic Pistons that works the bed has a leaking seal as well.

When I first started working on it my brother couldn't get it to really start at all. Just every once in awhile it would start for him.
Now I got it starting almost every time pretty much.
Every now and then however the starter Bendix grinds or just spends.
I'm sure I need 1 more starter shim.
Once I have the shimming figured out I do believe it would be best to change the flexplate. Maybe even put a new Bendix in the starter as well.

At this point I believe I need to start a new thread just about this TowTruck.

Well I do believe Tuesday was the last day I posted.
My truck's playing games again. It's been doing it since Wednesday morning. I just don't understand it. I'm to the point where I have to leave it alone before I start breaking things.

Also Wednesday late afternoon I found out my sister passed away.
I still ain't found out why she passed away. She would have turned 70 this year. She's been in bed health for the last few years. So maybe it was just that her health problems got the best of her. Maybe she just gave up.
I don't know we were not that close. I didn't even know where she lived at.

The day before yesterday I started changing an alternator on a 2003 Mazda Tribute.
Remember I don't have a garage to use, so I'm working outside. And it's been raining here on and off for the last 4 days.
I didn't get finished with that until yesterday late afternoon. At around 5 p m. or so.
I got right at the end of the job and I was ready to put the two bolts in the brake caliper bracket and I couldn't find one of the bolts.
So I go to three different parts stores to buy new bolts for the bracket. That took up an hour and a half of my day.
Then I get back to the vehicle and put my hand down to sit down so I can put the bolts in place and my hand lands right on the bolt in the mud that I had been looking for.
I'm pretty sure it's needless to say that I was definitely cussing for a little bit after that moment.

While I'm posting and waiting for my Doctor to come in and talk to me at my appointment.

While was driving here to the Doctor's office my turn signals stopped working.

I can hear the flasher clicking so I know it's not that.
I checked the fuse in the in passenger cab fuse box and it's also good.

I don't got my EVTM in my truck with me so can anyone tell me if the engine bay fuse box has a fuse in it for the turn signals?

My hazard lights do work.
Just not the turn signals.

Of I remember correctly, there are two flasher relays. One for the hazards and one for the turn signals. One is on the easy side of the board to get to and other on the back side. The contacts could be bad.

Before throwing parts at it, I would check the wiring and light sockets for power and damage.

From what I remember, there is only one fuse for the flashers but verify that.

You are correct there are two flashers.
And you're correct again there is 1 on the front side of the fuse box board ( That's the one for the turn signals. ) and the other 1 is on the back side of the fuse box board. ( That's the one for the hazard lights. )
My hazard lights work so I know that flasher is good.
And I can hear clicking when I turn my turn signal on, no matter if it's to the right or the left.
So I'm quite sure the other flasher is good as well.

The passenger cab fuse box fuse number 5 is good as well.
Which from what I understand is the turn signal fuse.
Among a few other things.

That's weird. It should take some amount of amp draw, (equal to 2 bulbs' worth) to make the flasher click.

Fuse is good, or you wouldn't have clicking sound from the flasher. Like Senornoob said, the flasher works using the current from the bulbs. So, if you are sure the flasher is working, then something is pulling current in the circuit and the only thing that should do that is the bulbs. Somewhere, one or more bulbs are working.

What makes you thing they are not working? It may just be the indicators in your gauge cluster. The actual signals are probably fine.
