Will a 2094 edge 4x4 manual bolt up to a 1996 5.0l if so what mods need made. Tia

Any bell housing bolt pattern that came from the factory will not mate up to a 5.0L.

Many but an Explorer with a V8 and swapped that drive train into a Ranger.

Do I have this right, you are looking to put a manual (stick) behind a 5.0 so you quit burning up E40D?

Doesn't a T5 bolt up behind a 5.0 straight....? you would need the S10 tailhousing to keep the shifter in a reasonable location instead of in the back seat, but they can be had in the junkyard. Someone verify me in saying that though.. I though the mustang came with a 5.0 and T5 combo for some time.

T5 can be bolted to a 5.0, but as noted you need the S10 tail housing and you will need to setup some method of activating the clutch (the M5OD slave cylinder doesn't "bolt in" on a T5).

But the M5ODR-2, found in F-150 behind the 4.2 and 5.0 engines. does bolt in* and has the same hydraulic clutch slave as the M5ODR-1 (the one found in Rangers).

*Caveat: The M5ODR-1 found behind the 4.2 uses M12 bolts which are close enough to the 1/2" bolts for the 5.0 to be able to cross thread. And 1/2" bolts won't fit in the M12 holes (but a quick reaming with a 17/32" bit solves the issue).

p.s. A T-5 is really a pretty light duty transmission; if OP is burning up E4ODs, T5 probably isn't best choice. M5ODR-2 is considerable heavier (but still not real rugged).

I highly doubt you will have a hard time finding a M50DR-2, and even less likely to find (what was a unicorn for me) a World Class T5, but if you happen to, a WC T5 is the ticket... except no WC has the Chevy S10 tail housing, and from what I understand swapping tail housings is as much work as rebuilding the trans.

I also understand that almost all the WC ones were in mustangs.
