I can't tell when I'm driving which side it's coming from, it's too damn loud. The previous owner of my car says the drivers side is new but I don't know how well I can trust his word, the guy cleared codes on me.

When I'm driving down the road, and I make a left turn the noise almost completely disappears. But when I turn right it gets worse. Would that be the passengers side bearing making noise?

I'm looking into getting it fixed soon. It should cost around 230 dollars at the local shop, but I'm going to see if Sears does wheel bearing work because I get a pretty decent discount over there, and I know the mechanics from work.

Any help guys? I don't want to take this truck in to get it done up for a passengers side and have it be the drivers. I know it's the front though.

It would be the DRIVER side. If bad the outside wheel will make noise on a turn, not the inside.

jack it up and rock the wheel back and forth. if its a wheel bearing, theres usually up and down play as well as side to side play

Well, what else could possibly be making an extremely loud grinding noise? It USED to only be when I was going above 45, but now it's 30 and above.

I know I may be a little late but more than likely its a wheel bearing. I'd try that first. It will get louder as time goes on, so that may explain the decrease in speed and the increase in noise....It was really loud in my truck from the drivers side, so I replaced it one night and it was like night and day the differene the new bearing made.
