I want to assemble new intermediate steering shaft.

Steering wheel will be off 90* IIRC if you don't do some cutting and welding.

I snagged one out of an XJ, kinda hemmed and hawed on it and found a better one out of a second gen that only used one rag joint.

Really worthy of a write up to preserve part numbers and info for the future:

I want to assemble new intermediate steering shaft.

yj style with ranger box....later style with over rail and saginaw gm boxes

there are several variations with the ttb/tib rangers and more with sla in regards to how it interfaces through the firewall.

all mitigatable with junkyard parts one way or another.

I found a brand new looking one out of a second gen, lost my ambition and just went with it lol.

Hey Frog,

While you're waiting on RWB's feedback, I thought it might help to say my U-Joint telescoping steering shaft works very well.
I will never bother with rag disc steering shaft ever again
Thanks Paisano, I bit the bullet and did it. It was for sure a challenge but it paid off in the end. Took all the slop out but I still feel some coming from the steering box. (maybe that's next lol) Still feel lots of vibrations 65+ mph though. I only felt it after I put some new tires on but I think I'm gonna look at getting new bushings in the front. Other than that it's slowly coming together. Thanks for the info!
