i wanna go fast

limiter limited me to 91 MPH only did it for curiosity, but the ol 3.0 carried me there alot quicker than i thought

07 3.0 V6 4.10LS 5spd
Jet Chip (does nothing)
Knn (noise Maker)
Flowmaster (noise maker, but sounds darn good)
running Sumitomo All Terrains sized 235 75r/15

1991 4.0 3.73 - 65

1996 LT1 Camaro - 150ish on a closed course (it's hard to pay attention to your speedo at that speed)

In the Ranger(R.I.P): Without chip, governed at 104mphith chip, past 120mph

In Shelby: 167mph

i got 110 in my 97tercel too!! yeah its a 1.5, took a long time but once going above 80 that thing started acting like a real car, i traded it in for the ranger cuz i blew the engine 4 times...maybe too much speeding..

LOL that's funny we had the same car. That car was total garbage. Mine was the "Blackhawk" edition...

On a closed road I had the 85 with a 306 and a 3.45 rear gear on 10.5 tires to 6500 rpm. You do the math. It was freaky fast.

Yes it indeed was. Considering the speedo didn't work we should have had my gps to get a decent speed reading.

77 LTD II 351W/FMX/2.50 gears- Speedo stops at 85...had it pointed dead nuts down to the "P" in MPH, prolly 120 or so. Waaaay to floaty at that speed. Had plenty left though, doesnt hit 3rd till 90MPH.

08 Colorado- 98MPH, itll do that in 3rd (5sp), governed.

87 Ranger 2.9L/5sp. Around 90. Sounded like it was going to come apart.

99 Crown Vic- 110MPH. Felt like 55. Governed.

83 F150 300I6/4sp/4.11's- 70MPH :) Sounded like it was going to grenade.

78 F350 400M/4sp/4.30 -80MPH....handled horrible, soudned like it was going to blow apart, the gears were whining like a women on PMS.

79 F150 351W/C6/2.96 - 100+ Speedo hit peg. Drove like crap. Still had plenty left.

89 Rallye Lawn Mower 11HP briggs BW trans, unknown gear- 55mph...dont ask.

later,
Dustin

mine was a normal model, white 2door, with the horrible auto trans without overdrive switch, had to put it in 2nd to reach 60mph and then switched to D to continue speeding, 4th gear always came in at around 70mph, so goodbye acceleration...:annoyed: did a little upgrading to compensate, but still...

The whole way back from picking up my 06 ranger (4 hour drive) it maxed out at 95ish then would cut out til it dropped below 90 while following my friends in a honda accord (it had 42 miles on it when I picked it up). Does the computer have a code to limit mph and rpm until after breakin I wonder??? After about 5-7000 miles I was messing around with my buddy in his tacoma, we were pretty even from about 70 up then I suddenly started pulling away (his truck cuts out around 98 i think?) so I looked down and the ranger speedo was going past 110:shok: so I let out then and didn't go back that high cause I was expecting it to still cut out at 95ish:icon_confused: It was a 2006 Ranger XLT extended cab, 2.3L, 5 speed, with 4.10 gears and I'm pretty sure 225/75R15 tires on stock steelies.

I sold it a while ago and the 92 I've had for like 2 months now gets scary going much over 65 and it barely gets that downhill in 4th gear:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

Sorry but never one to go fast anymore, just quickly. Things happen really fast and you're toast. Usually limit myself to 80 but that's in third only doing 4 grand in the Mustang.
Brand preference? Got seven Fords laying around right now.

1950 F-1 PU, another project.

I've had Dodges, Chevies, Fords..........

the Dodge and Chevy were by far the fastest/quickest.

But I don't have a preference. That a way, I don't limit myself if I find a great deal.
