i wanna go fast

4.0L Explorer, 3.73 gears, 235/75/15 General Grabber AT2, Flat road 95MPH... Fastest for me though that i have drove was around 165MPH in a 1990 Ford Probe GT turbo built.

I've been to the ~115 mark with my ranger in 4th and 3.73 gears. I would've pushed it faster, but then I started catching up with too many cars on I-70 and neither me or my buddy had a fuzz detector.

Oh, and that was in the turbo ranger. I love the hum of the four cylinder at that speed. Who agrees?

yes i did hit 120 and yes my truck has the jet programer. so no limiters.

My 04 5spd manual ran 85 in 4th with gear to go.... it's a 4x4 ext cab with 4.10's. I wasn't upshifting to see what it would do.

My friends 94 Ranger, with headers, auto 2.3..... slammed to ground did 120 (but it took about 5 miles)

Your 88 2.9 liter must be better than mine!!! at 90 it would get a real nice burning smell that took over the cab....... ( this same friend wrecked his lowrider, bought a 1990 2.3) with big tires and wheels..... b4 it lost overdrive we would race to my house from school, hit a bridge going 80 we both got all 4 tires off the ground, we never went much past 85 in Ky the roads are too curvy, and hilly.

Frank

and once upon a time, I got my dually to 118 (ran out of safe rpm's) they don't handle so well that fast.
and my camaro to 146 (the front tires began to lift, and I lost stearing) crapped my pants and slowed down never to do that again.

I think the fastest I ever had my Ranger (6" lift, 36's, 5.13's) was 70mph.

I didn't realize we were allowed to list non-RBV cars:

1992 S-10 4.3L V6 on 225/70/14: 100mph pacing friend on a motorcycle who was going perhaps 110

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser (base model): 115mph

2003 Pontiac Vibe GT: 120mph (has 6 gears, 3rd redlines at about 85, had room to go faster)

1999 BMW 323i: 105mph, room to go faster

2005 Chevy Cobalt (Supercharged): 100mph, room to go much faster, but hated the car because the 1st 3 gears are annoyingly short

2003 Acura RSX-S (turbocharged): 110mph

1974 Chevy Nova 4 door with L6 (250ci): 110mph (speedometer starts bouncing above 110, and is therefore inaccurate)

1995 Aerostar 3.0: Governed at 90mph

1999 UAHMMWV: 70mph

2004 P71 Ford Crown Victoria: 130mph

I don't think I've ever pushed a car to its absolute limits though.

the fastest iv bin in a boat was 168 mph 36 sleek with 2900 combined hp i helped builde the motors so i helped "test " the motors
in a car my gf lancer raly art edition was around 115 when she was sleeping =]

i had an 04 2wd edge with the 3.0 5speed and 4.10s and it cut off at like 92 at about 3800 rpms. now ive got an 86 4x4 with 2.9 5 speed with 31s and 3.73 gears and i havent been over 75 or so. now my 95 t-bird would do every bit of 125 wen i changed it to a cop car computer and put in an aluminum driveshaft and 3.55 gears!:D:icon_thumby::icon_bounceblue:

The fastest I've ever driven a car myself was 105 in a 1997 Toyota Tercel. I don't remember the displacement of the engine (1.5L maybe) but I know it only had 93 HP. I was shocked it even went that fast, but it took a good few minutes to get there.

I've had my bike up to 130, and that was in 5th gear at the redline..

4.0L manual 3.73 and 31 inch tires on the bronco II. Speedo stops printing the speed at 85 but i have had it bouncing on the trip reset button so im gonna say 110...

'88 2.9L with a 4 speed auto 4:10s with 31's - pegged at 85 in both 4wd and 2wd. And yes, I know I'm an idiot for trying it in 4wd.

'01 PT Cruiser - 115 bone stock

i got 110 in my 97tercel too!! yeah its a 1.5, took a long time but once going above 80 that thing started acting like a real car, i traded it in for the ranger cuz i blew the engine 4 times...maybe too much speeding..
