Hard to find work here, this company sucks. I just may walk out today. Was supposed to get paid yesterday, just like everyone else, NO ONE was paid!! I will be contacting the wife to see if my check went in today (direct deposit), and if not one more call to the boss with an ultimatum, give me my money or the gates go up and I am gone until payroll is fixed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that there was a computer error\glitch\or change of schedule for pay without an annoucement.

What do you guys think? It is a lifelong punishment for leaving your post without being properly relieved, but as far as I am concerned I am not an employee when not being paid for services rendered.

Sorry to hear something like this, it is a tough situation to cope with. There is no excuse for not paying an employee. There were times earlier in my career when i would figure a job and made zero profit after paying my guys. Things have since change when it comes to payroll for me, but that is the first on my list when it comes to my payouts. Employees get paid first and foremost, regardless of the situation

i would contact the local news about it also....they like stuff like that, espically if it is a bigger company......

also, jobs are everywhere....you just have to want to work and be willing to do stuff you normally wouldn't do...

Never mind, money went in about a half hour ago, but still sucks they feel that they can just do anything they want. A house was broken into the other day, when the sheriffs come to review the cameras for a playback, they will get a ear full, I plan on busting this stupid outfit. One MAJOR problem they have is, on our passes that are issued, we use majic markers to put the date, well at the end of the day, instead of throwing away the old ones, the guard crosses the date out with the marker and writes in the current date. We are talking 20 - 50 passes. Do you see the problem?

If I was a crook and came through the gate and had one of those passes with the date crossed out, that would tell me that if I was to get one that was not crossed out, all I had to do was hold on to it, wait for the day to rob,cross out the old date, write in the current date, slow down at the gate, hold it up to the guard, and keep going. I am now in without being logged. The best they have is video of a car the cameras have a hard time recording the tag on a moving car, but does a decent job, but I would be a crook right? Stolen car and all, we would be screwed. I would not doubt that this is what happened the other day.

I went from $40K yr with 401,dental,medical,life,eyecare and metlife to this crummy job, but not my fault how it happened. I no medical,dental,401K and make $18K yr. I am ready to move out of this state. I am trying to get a pell grant to go back to school, I would like to either Service A/C's or weld.

I had something like this a wile ago, very start of January. I got pissed off at my boss, he expected me to do things that he would start and put my own things aside to finish his, and then also get mine done on time. I finally had enough after 2 and a half years with him. I told him to go **** himself and I'd be back in the afternoon to pick up my toolbox. I got hired on at another shop on my way home (about a 5 minute drive). Shops here are screaming for people, everyone is, luckily for me.

Just a note of advice from someone who has walked out to someone who is thinking of it. Make sure you have another job lined up before you do it, or just tell them you are no longer happy with the job you have and you are wanting to go your separate ways, and leave 2 weeks notice for them. Cover your bases, if your going to make a scene, have another job lined up, or if you want to leave on decent terms so it doesn't look back on paper, give them a week or two of notice.

Well I unloaded both barrels to the detective. How unorganized they are change things on a whim, the passes, an email stating to just let the people in if they get upset....almost all of it, even the camera system that is a loaner until they get their own and the owner of it is coming any day to confiscate it.

I'm a little dickens when I want to be......make me shave my goatee that I had for 10 years......I'll teach them. Whistle blower act is a good thing

there is work, you just don't want to do that type of work....you are focusing on a certain job, look around...

why not do both welding and a/c?contact the building trades,get paid while you get trained,company truck,40 hours a week,insurance,retirement.

work for johnson controls,siemens and countless others out there.union dues are like $30 a month.contact your local,why pay for your own gas.after apprenticeship you will make 50 grand a year or better,depending on overtime.and the way oil is driving up other costs,you're gonna need it.

just a thought,once you get your training and become a journeyman you can go anywhere and work in the field.fwiw.
