I saw something a couple of years ago and now...

LOL, the story behind the pen is my mother-in-law gave it to me for Christmas 1967. It's been my daily writer for 42 years now, been through a lot of refills but it still works as good as new.

until a couple of years ago I had a parker 75, one of the solid sterling ones, I was recently looking for a replacement and was horrified to discover what they sell for...

BTW, on P4 chips, it isn't only the Cache size that affects speed, the FSB speed
The last of the three numbers is critical...

The "Northwood" cores were all 533MHz FEB, the "Prescott" chips are all 800MHz,
so going from a 2.4GHz/512/533MHz chip, to a 2.8GHz/1024/800MHz chip isn't an "incremental" increase but should be between twice as fast and up to 3-1/2
times as fast at doing some operations.

For me it's like going from a moped to a 500cc Motorcycle.

I KNOW by direct comparison, because my LAptop which I also JUST got working
is a P4/1024/533, and while it was noticeably faster than my old desktop, compared
to the new desktop it's slow...

booting to a usb drve is slow- you won't like it.
sometimes you have to do it, but it's not for
every day.

yeah, it would be cool...considering, i have 40gb in music, then all the movies....i need a way to free up some space lol.

the EASY way to "free up space" is to simply buy more of it.

HDD's aren't that expensive.

the WD-Blue 320Gb drive I bought to replace the dead factory 60Gb Hitachi
in my Gateway laptop was $89 shipped from NewEgg.

Yeah, my bios only recognizes it as a 128, but that's still more than twice what it had...

And yeah, I could've bought a smaller HDD and saved a little money...
But not as muc as you'd think, a 160gb drive was only ~$20 less
and a 250Gb less than $10 different...
AND if I get a better laptop the larger drive could be used in my desktop
(I've already got the ATA-6 to IDE adapter...)
